Other then that , everything else was normal. To me that time back then was the best. When people cared about the other person . Didn't have to worry about having everything you had stolen, Everytime you left your house, or went anywhere. Never had to worry about , being kidnapped. We could go anywhere and everywhere. People had values, respect and morals. Everything that we don't have today! Kids had chores everyday, weren't allowed to set and listen to adults talk. One of the biggest problems today. That unsupervised TV, and kid's not being corrected. Being Abel to do whatever they want. When we were kids if we didn't behave , or didn't do what we were told we got that good old razor strap. It was the best singers, music , and cars. Best time for living, at least it was for me. I wouldn't trade my young years, as far as growing up. And all the good times I had,all the ground we covered as kids. My parents, to me were the best. They taught us respect, morals and manners. And to stand up for each other. And that we did, even if it meant we got a spanking.

🌈🎶💜🎶🌈 I bought my first record.. a 45 RPM.. "Rock Around the Clock" at age 11.. 1956. A few hears later.. in my living room.. my early high school years.. I was 'captured' by Paul Anka.. calling out MY NAME.... thru my AM Radio ( there WAS NO FM yet 😊).... ..." DIANA" ... That name was NOT popular then....I RARELY heard it AT ALL.... except for my parents..buddies and teachers (calling 'role' at 🏫 school 😊). It was soooo weird .... I felt 'personally' connected to Mr. Anka's 'Heart 💜' .... in my teenage girl romantic yearning Dream fantasy mindset. 😊 When Princess Diana became a phenom in the 1980's ....I felt 'unspecial' hearing my name. Yet....the WHOLE ENERGY of Youthful Hopes and Love....are REKINDLED hearing these songs and music. 💜🎶💜🎶💜 Thank you !! 🍀🌈💜🌈🍀 🍀NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO 🍀

The Age of Innocence. If you were a teenager in the 1950s you were born during the Great Depression. You never fought in WWII but you may have fought in Korea. Ike was President during most of the 50s. He built America's Interstate Highway System. If you were a teenager in the 1950s life was indeed all about cars, diners and romance. The 1950s were a great decade to be a teenager. The 1950s were also about nukes and nuclear shelters but that was mostly for adults to worry about

Do u mean to say that the horrible noise today is music? sure do miss everything about the 50s-diners,houses,cars,ladies who dressed to be attractive instead of looking like they just got dragged down some alley, music, but most of all i miss the people! people were different......people now mostly seem HORRIBLE compared to people back then. self centered greeedy,disrespectful,sloppy,rude,...etc. well, i guess thats part of getting old. Our vision gets worse, but we can see thru peoples bullshit! G"day,Arron!

This is the best of the best sounds of Rock and Roll, and the diners bring back memories of the time I spent at Floyd's Diner on Olden Ave. In Trenton, N.J. in the '50s and early '60s. Great stuff, Thank you!

I love the Diners, there are still more than a few about, be better if there were more, same as the drive - ins, many have closed because the land is worth a fortune, glad you liked it, i do have a Diner video on my channel, you might even see the diner you have mentioned..

Loved the music and all the pics but what really made this one special was the radio broadcasts. For all of us that grew up in the 50's, the radio was a huge part of our lives and listening to this really took me back to those times. Not only the music but also the product plugs and the banter of the DJ's. So far, this is the best trip down memory lane I've found on KZitem.

I used to get excited on saturdays, when for an hour, the earth stopping radio show was The Hit Parade, and the top ten hits of the week were played.

You said it, I liked to carry my transistor radio to hear when I was not at school, and enjoyed all these songs. Regards

@@jmrodas9 I used to have an old tape deck and used to record onto tape, most of the time me and my mates would walk up and down down blasting out great Rock`n`Roll..

true ... the big old standing floor radio was pretty much the only source of entertainment for most of the families in my small town during my childhood in the 50s, until tv (with antennas & very snowy screen images began to become more common). Older sisters often had 78rpm wind up Victrolas though, until 45rpm became commonplace. We'd get radio wave broadcasts from Vancouver (CKWX (red robinson) & CKNW (nick sands), as well as from KOMO Seattle at certain times of the day.

Thank you very much for creating this collection along with the video that goes with it! I have enjoyed it tremendously as I do with all the music from the era, but to have the video that you chose to go with it really sits it apart from the others

Love the old music I grew up with some bring back good memories some bring back tears. Seems like a better time but growing up in small town in 50's in upstate NY without instant news I know there was a lot we didn't know about. With WWII and Korea behind us and not knowing what was coming with Vietnam and the drug culture was a good time to be a kid. Thank you youtube and the people who put these lists together .

In my humble estimation, the very Best decade in this country, was between 1955, and 1965.
