You should be proud of that hole. Lots of heavy bar lifting. As a plus your arms should be bigger now. They say you can do as little as 4" of packed dirt on the roof for fallout, but 2-3 feet is much better. Look forward to seeing it done

EPDM rubber roofing, just tack it down with roofing nails, then glue a little piece of EPDM over the nail head. When you put the permanent roof on in the future just remove the EPDM and use it as a tarp, or leave it on and roof right over top. FJB!

Looks good. Have you watched Colin Furze? He is in England and is an inventor. He made a tunnel system under his house, a bunker room and now an underground garage, worth a look.

I just found him a few days ago. He's inspirational to be honest. Nothings impossible. I dig it. Thanks for watching

Good job, if anyone can dig a hole for himself, it would be you, lol. I look at that and think about my granny's root cellar, it had a beam and sod roof, the dang thing is still there and functioning, they built it in the 40s. Wish I could tell you how they shored up the roof, I know the floor was dirt but the walls were cinder blocks and I remember seeing stuff hanging from the ceiling/timbers. They had 2 maybe 3 feet of dirt in the top. Those old timers just knew how to do stuff.

It would make a big koi pond, or very small bass pond.
