I did not stay on top of my disease prevention and my watering well enough on the putting green. This combined with the fact that it seems the Penncross that I planted last year is doing much better through the summer than the existing bentgrass in my backyard, I decided it was time to do a kind of mini renovation on the putting green.
As a part of that, I started back in the beginning of July with an experiment to see if verticutting the bare areas with the SunJoe would help the grass to spread and fill in. Although it appears this worked to some degree, it was not working fast enough for my taste. So, we came back through and verticut the whole thing again, seeded, watered, top dressed with sand, seeded again, and kept watering.
The results at the end are 9 days after the initial seeding and I am very excited about what I'm seeing and the prospects for the green and practice facility through the end of this year and what it's going to look like through fall.
