You're right about authors avoiding writing about back games. The most I've seen is, as you know, in Walter Trice's Boot Camp, although because he had Snowie rather than XG, some adjustments to his examples need to be made. Even Michy is not planning to write about back games, although I'd be happy if he did. Mochy estimates that back games happen about 3% of the time (excluding proto back games) so he feels too much emphasis is put on them. Still, you do need to know something about them. Not only are back games difficult to play, they're difficult to write about, as highlighted by your fine effort only scratching the surface. What I find difficult is (when playing green) when to play pure and slot points in your inner board, and when not to. Bearing in (when there's gaps in your inner board) when playing against a back game, is quite different to bearing in against a 1 or 2 point game. If you could do something on that, that would be great. Then, we also have doubling decisions... and at different match scores... Back games are fun, but yes, I agree they're difficult!

Thanks for your comment, Neil. Yes, it would be great if Mochy wrote a book on this. Who else could undertake this? Many question whether XG even fully understands backgames. There's actually a Facebook group solely on backgames that Mochy set up that's worth checking out. Bring aspirin!

I reckon I would run from 24 to 15 and leave a blot in front of the stripped midpoint. Is this too 'blotty'?i
