Well, in that case, I suggest for Alexa to go and get one for you, preferably with the longer handle...

It's all so neatly organized. I'm really feeling self-conscious about my messy garbage bag full of gear now.

Fantastic video I really enjoyed it thank you. Can I ask you did you have to seam seal your Lanshan tent?
@bushcraftfrog

Actually I did not. It did not make too much sense to me that they would make it in such a way that it would leak. I do know some people did that, but more like a precautionary measurement. So I decided to roll Without it. And here it is, years after with hundreds of exposed nights. And still holding. Recently I purchased another one, a bit heavier with a thicker (non see through) inner part for like wind resistance for the winter, and just like the one I got years ago, that one is still the same build.

Thanks for your reply mate You've been really helpful. At least I know what to do if I purchase a lanshan now which I think I will.

Sadly I do not. Since I got it while I was living in China, but the brand is called Ice Flame and I think you should be able to look it up on AliExpress. Mine is rated down to -5C comfort. And it really does work well. By putting it in a bivvy I slept cozy at -8C..so..

Hey man, there are much lighter versions out there, people tend to go with half as much weight as I do. Still compared to my army days, and the days that followed where I hiked with 50-55 lbs of suffering on my back...damn this stuff I use sure is light! At the time I did not know/could not afford better plus I was a lean mean fighting machine.. Now I'm getting old and I sure do appreciate comfort. Point is, when I think on my hiking, camping, bushcrafting and backpacking career... Those days of 50lbs bags still carry the best adventures though.. So screw expensive gear man, just get out there and enjoy the great splendor of nature, because that is why all this is done...

It'd be hard to do buddy, since I got it while I was living in China 6 years ago or so. It is called Ice Flame, that I know. So try looking it up on AliExpress.

I like the bushcarft pack myself also I never hike anymore without a chair. The thing I missed most when I was young was a place to sit. Nowadays with the new chairs it’s ridiculous to not carry one. My favorite shoes are rockport they aren’t light but you could walk across America in a pair. I also would never use trek poles. Maybe it’s my age but they don’t look like something a man should have. I’ll stick to a walking staff like the RI(Ranger instructors ) carried in the army. If it was good enough for those studs then who am I to carry anything different. Lol 😆 just having some fun. Why do you feel you need to completely different set-ups. Wouldn’t it be better to have one an change gear depending on the mission? I have several setups but mine are long trip or day hike not 2 big expensive bags. Did you not find the other pack comfortable? Because it looks amazing. I like the brown color better also. That’s just my personal taste. Looking at the videos both look very comfortable. I just like overbuilt stuff. I don’t like thin gotta worry about rip type of gear. Ya know?

In this particular setup the poles are also used to pitch the tent. So that cuts the weight of the tents aluminum poles. They also help a lot while ascending mountain peaks and traversing difficult terrain. Over the years I have changed several poles due to malfunction. They have proven useful while climbing high peaks and descending them as well. I got this pack around 6 years ago, it was an upgrade at the time to my extremely uncomfortable pack. I wanted to try going as light as possible, and as comfy as possible. Over the years, I noticed that despite the packs great comfort, it lacks in sturdiness. And I treated myself to a dedicated bushcraft pack. That being said, the Osprey is still way more comfortable to wear over a prolonged hike. And if I am going on a hiking trip, where I plan to crunch 20-30 miles a day, every ounce counts and I'd rather go with the comfy pack... On the other hand, when I go to set up a camp in the brush, and trek through a thick woodland, I do not want to watch my every step, like you said yourself, in order not to tear the pack.

@@bushcraftfrog that's extremely impressive 20-30 miles is really putting in the work! Good luck love to see a video on how that goes! I just can't see myself using those poles. Lol Take care
