Climbed up Lyman Glacier back in 1964. Mostly gone now by comparison. Image Lake was stunning on a calm sunny day. In those days you could camp right next to the lake. Not many forest fires back then.

Thanks for the great videos lately Andrew! It's hotter than you know what here in Texas and I am wishing I lived closer to where you are. That'll change come winter. Wife and I love your style - lots of scenery with just the right amount of commentary. And the time-lapses are awesome! Maybe you could do a video on setting those up. Your channel is better than regular TV any day. Safe travels! Mark

Thanks for another great video! It's such a beautiful area that you devote your channel to and I really appreciate all your content. I live in the midwest and can only experience the PNW through your channel and others like yours which are very few. So please continue!

In 2018 my family and I went to Louis lake and we stayed the night there. on the second day, we saw some smoke and realized there was a fire. helicopters were flying above us and we would take anything shiny and point to the sun so that they would see where we were. finally after about 30 mins of doing that they saw us and sent two people to go and get us. when they got us we had to hike up these rocks and to this, kinda swampy area (it was actually pretty)and the helicopter was waiting for us there and we had three dogs with us, and usually, they don't let dogs on because they might freak out and we crash. but luckily our dogs were calm so they didn't freak out or anything we flew out of there. but there were 7 people (including me) so 3 people and 1 dog went first and then another 3 ppl and 1 dog went and then finally 1 person and 1 dog went and we all got home safe! (there were no people so that was great and it was really beautiful and sorry for this really long story)

That zoom lens is crazy. Is that a 18-400?

It's a Sony AX53 camcorder with 30x optical zoom. I don't know how that translates but I also bring along a Nikon D7200 with a 18-300mm lense for timelapse footage and the camcorder zooms much further than that.

Early june. I didn't research it much beforehand but I guess it's a busy place most of the year minus when it's packed with snow. Extra bad with all the COVID refugees.

@@therabbithole999 not in June of 2020. But i guess it all depends on the snow year and melt levels.
