My brother saw Davey at an airport one time and shook his hand while thanking him for the music. He told me that he just remembers Dave's nails digging into his hand. Lol

I have never once had a bad experience having a conversation with a member of AFI. In fact, at times I was made slightly uncomfortable by how engaged they were talking with me while there were quite obviously other fans circling us wanting to have their own conversation.

Being a musician I think keeps you youthful knowing how to enjoy and express yourself ,doing what you love no matter whether you rich middleclass or poor.

Being *sober* is what you mean. Look at all of the other artists in any decade/era or industry who've completely destroyed their bodies and minds with drugs and alcohol. Davey has always been straight edge and that's why he's still so articulate and able to recall all of these stories in detail as he's getting older. That's why he's still killing it with DREAM CAR 🤯

I love this album. I used to wonder how they went from Answer That and Very Proud of Ya to this, and recently I realized SYM has more in common with those albums in a lot of ways. I think the production and Davey's vocals give these songs a harder edge and the songs just sound meaner.

Hunter is from Grass Valley!! Such a nice little community tucked inbetween beautiful mountains. Parents of a friend of mine in junior high had property in the woods near there and i saw a fireworks show in grass valley, such a cozy, homely place, it was around '95 maybe Hunter was there too :O

I remember going to Tower Records at the Fremont Hub to buy this album. I was freshman in high school. My Bf at the time had a compilation cd with A Single Second on it and we were hanging out in the car listening to it. When the song came on I had to know who it was. That was the moment I fell in love with AFI.

I really wish they talked more about the album itself rather than the line up. This is in my opinion, their best record, the bridging gap between eras that meant a lot to me then, as well as now.

@SlashManEXE

@@willbirkin666 I don’t remember Mark’s departure being amicable. Him taking up cycling professionally was also a later development when fans were trying to track him down. Geoff’s departure WAS amicable before he screwed that up a couple years ago. Really a shame how recent that was. Davey and Adam didn’t need the royalties from that, but it was just the principle of the act that had them feeling betrayed
