This is such a very well made instructional video! Perfectly clear without annoying music or unnecessary chatter. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, videos like your are worth 1,000 pictures. Thank you taking the time to produce such a carefully made video and for sharing your knowledge.

Excellent video that deserves a lot more views - no annoying music, no annoying chatter for 10 minutes before you get to the point, really good close-ups that make it easy to follow and copy on our own machines. It's so nice to see a video from someone who really knows what they're doing. Thank you. I'll be recommending this.

I've just found you as I've been searching information on vintage Singer hand crank. I'm looking to buy one on eBay to add to my collection of machines, as I love the mechanics of them. Your tutorials are the best I've seen on KZitem, so clear the correct speed and no unnecessary chatter. I will definitely recommend you and look forward to more. I'm thinking about a 66k because I love the decals.

Love the dart tip! I'm going to try that on my next project with darts. Thanks. Funny but we have very similar vintage machines. My lotus 66K is a treadle, and my handcrank is a 28. The bobbin winder iis in a different spot. It is down low. I love the simplicity, strength and sound of these old machines. I appreciate you not talking incessantly during the video. It is very calming and relaxing to watch. Thank you.

I tried to reverse stitch on my hand crank Singer 12 Transverse shuttle. I attempted it with the same technique you demonstrated for the 66. That didn't work so well, but the way you just did it worked great.
@sewwithmrsg

You can try the technique that I used for this handcrank singer 128 sewing machine. Backstitching with a handcrank machine is a bit different to the singer 66 electric or treadle model.

I've always left the needle down, lifted the foot, turned my project 180 degrees and then sewn back 4 to six stitches. This looks much easier and quicker, will have to try it. Will it also work with a rotary hook and oscillating hook?
@sewwithmrsg
2 жыл бұрын
I believe this technique will work with most old machines. Please let me know when you tried this technique. I sometimes backstitch this way with my bernina 950 industrial. It has its backstitch lever close to the hand wheel so when I already have my right hand closer to the presser foot lifter, I just back stitch in this way rather than reaching for the backstitch lever. Thanks again and I hope you like, share and subscribe to my channel to see more tutorials on these old but excellent machines ☺️

@@sewwithmrsg this technique also works with vibrating shuttle. It just takes a lot of coordination to lift the presser foot reverse Stitch and treadle all the same time without going too fast.

@@dalesuhre6522 yes it works with most machines, even with modern ones. I sometimes do this technique with my Bernina industrial 950. It has a reverse lever but when my right hand is closer to the presser foot lifter than the reverse lever (when I’m guiding the fabric with both hands) I just use this technique. With practice you can use this technique even when sewing fast. Please share my videos to help my channel to grow. Thank you ☺️

@sewwithmrsg
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jenny, thank you. That works for my other one but not for this machine. I even thought that it has the wrong size shuttle when I bought it. I thought it was the reason why a part of the shuttle was broken - because it was too hard to remove, the previous owner hold into the sticking part to remove the shuttle. But yes that’s how to remove a shuttle and that works for my other machine.
