This song was released in late 1999 a few months after I Want It That Way. Fun fact, this is their most expensive music video to date and is one of the most expensive music videos of all time. They spent 2.2 million on this 💀

Speaking of finances, this holds a Guinness World Record for the 14th most expensive music video with estimated production costs of over $2,100,000 USD. Considering the subject matter I hope it's something the guys are proud of, to have such a well-made visual as part of their artistic legacy. Please react to "Shape of My Heart," "The Call," "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely," and "As Long as You Love Me" next.

The robot with the face at the beginning is the same guy who plays the bus driver in "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)". Both music videos were directed by Joseph Kahn. Also, the Spice Girls did a similar futuristic music video 2 years earlier for their "Spice Up Your Life" video. Both were inspired by the 1982 Blade Runner film, only theirs centered around world domination which mirrored their massive popularity at the time. I guess you could say that at the time, the Spice Girls ruled the world, while the Backstreet Boys ruled the galaxy.

Since you're reacting to both New Kids and BSB, you should be aware that NKOTBSB was a thing. One album consisting of greatest hits, 2 new songs and the megamix plus a tour. Live videos of the tour are available on yt. Have fun!

As a grown man now, I can admit as a teenager I had The Nick Carter Haircut. Hell, my avatar isn’t far off lol. I would say I learned the dance moves and sang the songs just to impress teenage girls, but that would be a lie. They just make exceptional pop music with amazing harmonies. The first song I performed in public was a BSB song.
