Maam, with all due respect, not all of us can grow a real beard. I for one truly wish I could. I think you may be a beardist. And yes, I wear a decorative goatee, but just to hide a scar.
@CJ-bu8mh
Жыл бұрын
@@snapperboat25 You just do whatever you can and a goatee is considered a beard, just a short one. Only time I see beards is at the grocery store or maybe at the doctor's offices. I admire people with curly hair as I do not have that DNA! Better to admire than be envious. Is your boat 25 feet long?

I am from Wyoming. I worked at a power plant locally here with a man who was from West Virginia; another true Hillbilly. I won't go into details about his family but he was the hardest worker and a true friend, regardless of any circumstances we found ourselves in. He was a mechanic though he could do about anything that was required. I hired him back after he retired to work on a special project I needed done. He was a good man. You remind me of him a lot! Oh, by the way, your content is very informative as well. I enjoy it.

Nathan - Maybe you said earlier, and I missed it, but @ 18:55, while you were starting your shiplap on that insulated exterior wall, was there a reason you didn't slip in a piece of the rat guard at the bottom and on the sides? It would match the look of the adjacent metal-faced wall and help protect against the furry woodland creatures looking to gain access to your soon to be completed shop? It is looking great and I'd like a tour when it's all finished.

blacksmithing! You sure have a lot of good tools already, I am amazed. my father opened a large mechanics shop in the large barn, on the farm. He soon got a forge and anvil. He now could make parts for the farmers as often a broken, say, a gear might could take three months to arrive from the dealer and this farmer needs this gear *now*! only three more days to harvest that wheat. So my father became a blacksmith as well as a welder and mechanic. betcha, you will find good uses for these shop additions, Nathan.

Rat guard is for the outside sheeting. Inside sheeting can be "sealed" at the concrete. Some contractors pour their concrete past the steel framing to make a rat guard. This can also make a guard to protect against equipment damage, lawn mowers, weed eaters, skid steers, etc. I know it works at our shop. But, that's just how we do it & we like out of the woods.

In the UK, I've used the charred wood method to preserve posts, often old telegraph poles, that are used to build saltwater boat landing stages. It stops marine worms from getting into the timber and reduces barnacle build-up. When we've had to pull out posts, they are in a first-class state of preservation after decades in the mud and water.
