Today Cook with Roy will show you how to make a SmashBurger quick, easy and of course delicious. What is a SmashBurger? It's a burger cooked on a flat very hot surface. We are going to use a Cast Iron Skillet but any flat top grill or steel pan would work. Don't use a nonstick pan as it is not designed for such high heat and the nonstick surface isn't necessary.
As I mention in the video the best hamburger to use is a 80/20 blend as the amount of fat in the meat will make it extra tasty and juicy. If your concerned about calories and fat content you can do a 3 ounce patty instead of the 4 oz patty we used and that will give you roughly the same fat and calories as a 4 ounce patty of 85/15 hamburger.
