I want to ask question, if bacillus subtilis was isolated from different sample, and it has different pH optimum to grow (i.e isolated from shrimpaste is 6, from fish souce is 8) why this happened? both of bacillus subtilis can grow pH 5-9. Can you please explain it and mention papers for it? thankyou in advance

I am not familiar with this and I can’t cite any papers. My assumption would be that different strains have evolved different optimal pH’s since they occupy such different niches.

hi doctor ... do you know about environmental enzymes (eco enzymes)? some say it can be used as a disinfectant or sanitizer. do you believe that?

I’ve heard it can be good to get rid of certain odors, but I don’t know how good it is actually disinfecting or sanitizing.

hi doctor... will a lower ph for example ph 2,5 will kill any bacteria or virusses ?
@BiologyProfessor

Yes, a pH of 2.5 is much too low for certain types of bacteria. Many Neutrophiles and alkalilphiles will be killed at that pH.

@@BiologyProfessor will it kill covid-19 virus also ? i have purify water machine that able to produce ph 2,5
@markovichglass

@@virgotekcomputer water machines will produce acidic water, but with very low buffering agents. Therefore the pH shows acidic on a test, but doesnt have the acidity to actually kill covid19. Also, our stomach will buffer all water ingested to a low pH. To go thru the pyloric valve.....
