A seriously helpful lecture, thank u so much for that firstly:) But i have question about the transduction. How come in the second bacteria that was injected by the bacteriophage does not produce new viruses like the first one. I guess that in the generilized one it does not happen because the second bacteria does not get any viral DNA, but in specialized one the bacteria gets both viral and bacterial DNA. Why the viral DNA does not do what it normally does?

Hello prof Zach the lecture is so wonderful thank you for that hard work. Actually, I want to inform about something that I'm confusing with, Does Transposition mechanism is taking place only when the DNA fragment acquired by the cell? Is it not a type of mechanism as conjugation when the DNA genes transfer from one bacterium to the other ?

Hello, I would like to say your video was very helpful on this topic, however, I was in an oral exam couple of days ago, and talked on conjugation. I would therefore like to point out, that when a sex pilli Is formed to transfer DNA, to the recipient cell, the sex pili is not "a tube" where DNA is transferred. It simply acts as a pulling device, to attract the other cell, so there celler walls absorbed each other on one end. Hereby, genetic material is transferred, and not via the tube like you mentionend.

during Hfr to F- conjugation, you mention that the Hfr cell gives some (but not all) of its cDNA and plasmid to the F-. Does it outright give this, as in, without replication so it donates the section of DNA and loses it for itself? Or does it replicate a small portion of its DNA and then give the duplicate to the F- cell?
