The key is to not go beyond your body's limits which is what a lot of people do specially bodybuilders you want to get up to the point that your body is about to fail that muscle or tendon or whatever it is about to fail you get close to that but you don't exceed it

I went from a relatively healthy 40 year old, to someone who would qualify for disability due to my body suddenly breaking down piece by piece (especially my legs feet and knees). Your videos are helping me try to win back my own body. Your amazing, and I truly do hope you know that your doing so much good for our world. At the very least, for my world. Thank you, so much. Hi David, I suffered a complete patellar tendon tear 5 weeks ago. Shortly after I discovered your content and you’ve inspired me, I am so looking forward to recovering from what has been the most severe injury of my life. I have never stretched regularly or reliably in my life, though have always been one of the most flexible men I’ve met. I’m afraid for how much of a loss I’ll suffer in my impacted knee, but I want to regain what I lose and also strength the other leg to be sure I don’t have to go through this again. Not really a question, but just wanted to see if you had any advice and to let you know your videos have been awesome and inspiring to watch!
