Then again, the guy hadn't fought a kickboxing bout in over 12 years. I think he's done pretty well. Offcourse he is on the 'sweet sauce' or 'horsemeat' as a Dutch reporter called it but it's not like Badr isn't or Rico for that matter. His next bout is probably going to be against Rico Verhoeven. I really wonder how that will turn out, Overeem can take hits like a brick but he is almost too buff, it seems to slow him down. Slower than Ben Saddik and Rico beat him 3 times. Also his last MMA bout (Alistair) vs Nganu didn't turn out very well either. The roids and his age are becoming his enemy, while Rico has an allmost unexhaustable condition and is definitely a lot more swift on his feet and strategic. Then again a lot have commented Verhoeven is Glory's posterboy and it's about time/or just a matter of time before a bigger opponent rises to the canvas. In MMA Conor also seemed invincible but that also changed. That's the thing tho, Gerges, Hari and Overeem (his last year) all in retirement is a wise decision they al had pretty great careers. For Rico, he wants to be a Hollywood actor he says, a refreshing face winning Glory would also be welcome imo. He's been undefeated for years maybe time to hang the gloves up and let a newcomer win.

So if you get a champion boxer that's been doing it since he could walk his peak time could be as early as 17 then there is only so long he can mentally maintain it, have the bug for it, which in turn goes in lifestyle, Mike Tyson was burned out before he was 28, then you high mileage on the body. But if Mike Tyson never started boxing until he was 35, by 38 he would be just the animal he was at 17. Look at Francis ngannou he's only been training a few years and he's at top of the UFC rankings and he's late 30s, randy couture was 35 in his first MMA fight so plenty of time, 38 Is not physically old...
