(SDN) -- The chief executive of Baguio City, Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR), Mayor Benjamin Magalong asks Filipinos on why this is the time act against graft and corruption as he presented a study on corruption that he says is being committed by politicians who do it through their projects.
Of course, there is naming any politician, as it seems the mayor was speaking in what could be in general sense.
Magalong, a member of the Mayors 4 Good Governance (M4GG), and his fellow members of the Alyansa ng Nagkaka-Isang Mamamayan or ANIM, issued the "A Manifesto by ANIM" that calls on "all Filipinos to act now and make your voices heard. Our country needs you now."
ANIM is comprised of organizations and individuals...a broad non-partisan coalition composed of six major sectors of Philippine society -- led by retired military and uniformed personnel, the religious, the youth, the women, the professionals and other civil society organizations (CSOs).
ANIM appealed to "President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to take a direct hand in bringing about meaningful change and do what is good for our people by certifying as urgent a bill that will define political dynasty to Congress."
Incidentally, the Philippines will soon conduct its mid-term political exercise in May 2025 involving candidates for national, regional (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), and local levels. (♤)
