The best band out of NZ by far. Saw them in Leeds in the 90s and they were the loudest band I'd ever seen. Glad to see them still going.

I had the privilege of seeing this almighty band in Sept 2018 the venue where I first enjoyed them back in the day - Dunedin's Captain Cook. I didn't stick my head in the speakers this time but I did dance on stage, Magical, Tanker is an epic tune.

Kings Arms Auckland I think. I was there, brilliant concert as always. Alister's shirt was soaked by the end.

Ahhh, blessings & cotton socks. There's some of the hypnotics of Snapper and just some nice cream of the Flying Nun ilk's lesser known cousins; christ, these guys were huge for many of us in Dunedin & ChCh late 80s + to mid 90s. Takes me right back to out-of-it hostelry beer sticky-ifying Dr Marten boots on lobby-ed carpets, 'n puddle-alley cigarettes & numbers

Why is MBV considered so influential and ahead of their time today? These guys were exploring similar sounds to the english shoegazering movement, but 10 years earlier.

@@_benjimouse_ I never got the "shoegaze" label with them/Gordons. I've always felt they were more akin to Mission of Burma. Way ahead of their time and loud AF.

@@_benjimouse_ 10 years earlier? Really? Isn't anything came out in 1987. Not saying you're wrong, I'm from the UK and was born in 1979, and literally just learned of this band's existence today!
