Hi Jamie. Me and my mate have been feeding heavy this summer on a river. We’ve both been putting a 17ltr bucket of bait in in an 8-10 hr session and we’ve hammered the bream. My biggest weight was 248lb and in one session we fished next to each other and had 380lb between us

I fish big rivers mainly, what I don’t get is how a mesh feeder that is capped at the bottom with mesh is able to empty when you reel in, the bait can’t escape like it does from an open ended feeder. Surely it would be better to use a feeder that is capped at the top so it can empty when you reel in.

I always, do this on the, tidal yare and bure. Wait till slack water if you can and, fill it in good, to hold, the, Bream. Also when moving fast, use, big 3oz feeder every 3 minutes as, bait just gets washed away on the, flood, and, ebb.

Sorry to disagree but 4oz feeders to 50+m on 0.10 braid 👎🏻 use a braid shocker 25+lbs

Use a dedicated carpy spod braid - Fox / Spomb 20lbs red spod braid is only 0.18mm. They do a shock-leader braid too @ 50lbs with a diameter of 0.26mm, which is still thinner than most 10lbs and 12lbs monos.

@@CatchFishingChannel To save your fingers, get a golf glove for your reel hand / casting hand. You can add sticky bandage to it for extra security / safety if you want (but add it to the glove finger when you've got the glove ON). Store the glove with the rod when they're not in use.

thank you for that Jamie very interesting, i have the big bait up feeder that you showed, and i found a preston's solid plastic bait up feeder for deep water, exactly the same size, they both work brilliantly, and i watched the matrix video's, they made you scratch your head about spreading your feed if you didn't leave it in long enough before you strike it out, your video and the matrix video helped a lot 🤔

Jamie,is their any time you would not use a shock leader and just fish braid. If so what dia braid would you use and what weight feeder for say 40 50m distance.Thank you.

Hi Clive, I've fed with my 3lb test curve 10ft rod at 45m with braid direct (with the big un-weighted feeding feeder featured in this video) in the past without a problem but if I had to feed like this at 50+m then a braid or mono shockleader can be used and I think most people would prefer to do that mate.

How do I get in touch with Matrix about one of their products that is not fit for purpose? The only email address i coudl find was a sales one and they did not reply. I bought a Matrix Rubber Carp landing net and have used it 10 times and the thread pulled out when I was landing a 6lb carp in a match when I was pulling the net towards me and I always left the fish by holding the spreader block. C learly this product did not live up to its name and I can't find anywhere to email about this faulty design/product. As an ambassador for the products I would expect you to have some sort of contact details. I could use. I have followed you on this channel for some time and watched your journey and how your video/production skills have improved.

Hi, great videos, I'm getting back into fishing after being away since the 90s lol. My fishing use to be match fishing, never used a pole. I'm going to target bream as that's my favourite fish with feeder and float fishing. Biggest bream caught was 11 lb in southern Ireland. Biggest bag was 150lb from my local ponds as a 15 year old.

Have you ever tried taking it one step further Jamie and used a spomb to put out balls of groundbait or even loosefeed? It can be devasting in both accuracy and distance and, in situations that respond to it, you can put out a lot of bait very quickly. Also with very few doing it, it can often give you a massive advantage. There is definite mileage in this one albeit it may divide opinion. What are your thoughts?

Heavy grounbaiting in winter is the kiss of death for your swim ,,, bream shoal up in winter and don't move, you are either on the shoal or not ,, if you are there's no need to hold them with bait , just have a long tail and try and get one to instinctively suck it in ,, if you are not on them then go window feeder or as I like to call them, cut down top kit tubes with a strip of lead on and go for the roach and perch ... just before winter bream will pack on weight and you may get the late benefit from heavy feeding even though it's cold but when winter becomes official cut down that g4oundbait to your feeder and feel your way in .

With the closed-end and the attachment at the open end, how well does this empty especially with large particles that you talk about?

I've just wanted to ask the same question. In videos I'd watched previously on different channels this type of feeders were attached at the closed end and then open end was clogged with groundbait mix. Shouldn't it be that way?
