Tamarind Balls
Ingredients
500 g shelled Tamarinds
1000 g Sugar (extra sugar for rolling tamarind balls)
1/4 cup Water
1/4 tsp of Mixed Essence
1/4 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Black Pepper or Cayenne Pepper
Method
Place shelled tamarind in a large bowl. Sprinkle with the water and mix thoroughly to ensure that the pulp is softened.
Add the sugar, along with the other ingredients. Continue mixing until the tamarind resembles a firm bread dough.
Turn out the tamarind combination onto a clean surface.
Pinch into balls of equal size. Roll each ball into a perfect shape and roll into the extra sugar. Continue this process until all the tamarind mixture is completely rolled out.
