I've been a Baker fan since his senior year in HS. Helped that I've always been an OU fan. Rooted for CLE when he was there, but after the way they treated him, trading him to CAR, after everything he did there, CLE gets nothing but derision from me. I figured out Watson wasn't a top-10 QB a couple seasons before CLE traded for him; I laugh at CLE organization every time I see a clip of Watson crapping his pants. I hoped he was going to stay in LAR (thought McVay was a perfect fit for him), but so glad he's in TB now with Coen. He's going to have a great year.

Canales was not as great of an OC as people think. Last year was his first year ever calling plays. He brought a bright and happy type of demeanor and they say fun to work with but the scheme needed work to help the running game and he couldn’t adjust on the fly like he should be able to. My prediction is that Liam’s offense will take a step forward, not backwards. More motion to tell the QB what the defense is doing then Baker will have options to change the play, be more of a field general. If he’s good at putting us in the right plays at the line of scrimmage the offense could take 2 steps forward! 😎 GO BUCS!

Hope you saw the game yesterday. The offense is going to be much better, not worse. Coen is a better OC than Canales, and the OL has been upgraded, just wait and see. And Baker will finally get the opportunity to be a true field general and make adjustments/audibles based on what he sees pre-snap, instead of having to run whatever Canales called, even when the play was DOA before the snap. Baker is going to have another career year, and TB is going to not only win their Division, but they're going to get to and win the NFCCG in 2024.

Finally a non biased analysis and spoke nothing but facts. I really hope people keep sleeping on Tampa bay. Atlanta getting all the love and I don’t know why but I’d rather they get the spotlight. Wil just make the Tampa players want to win that division..4th time in a row but are never the favorites 😂 we were only the favorites the year after we won the Super Bowl with Brady. If Godwin doesn’t tare his acl, and AB doesn’t have a meltdown and strip while running off the field, and wirfs for banged up, we would have been in the nfc championship game at minimum. Ties it up with the rams with less then a min left in divisional game and Bowles called a bond head play 0 blitz and it bit us hard n gave them the game winning walk off fg. It’s all gonna come down to players staying healthy. If we can stay healthy, we’re gonna be a major problem and win the division…AGAIN

Here's why I DON'T expect this offense to "take a step back." 1). "Play-Action" is Baker's forte. The running game was THE WEAKEST IN THE NFL last season. I expect to have an improved O-line (due to adding talent and a year of chemistry for most of them). That will improve the running game. 2). Rachaad White turned a corner in the last few games last season. Watching the efforts of Buc Irving at practice, and the fear of losing his starting spot, will keep him running with that extra effort. (Again, improving the running game.) 3). Mayfield is now going to be given more options to change plays at the LOS. I think this is HUGE! Baker is VERY sharp, and studies hard. I have no doubt he's going to have a lot of success by exploiting what he senses from the D. 4). Baker isn't splitting preseason reps with the 1s this time around. 5). Mayfield will have a year of chemistry with his primary targets. He hasn't had that in several seasons,. And when he did, it was throwing to OBJ, who publicly brags about how well he "ad-libs" his routes. (Baker is a "TIMING" QB who needs to know that his target won't zigg when he's supposed to zagg.) That offense wasn't built around Baker's skill-set, the way this one is.

Canales phenomenal? The guy did not score a single touchdown in any first quarter. Bucs had the worst run game on NFL, worst in yards per carry, the worst and most predictable playcalling in the league. Canales was so bad as offensive coordinator that it took the defense to manage to win against the worst team in the league Panthers. When I hear people praising Canales I know is someone who doesn't watch games and just parrots whatever main stream media is saying. Canales was the biggest liability in 2023 not asset, liability. No bias I just don’t believe in Dennis Allen or Derek Carr. The saints are an aging roster. Their defense is good when healthy but the offense is a mess.
