Two years from now ay pwede na akong mag early retirement(SSS at Union) at iniisip ko na mag stop magtraho full time at manirahan back and forth sa US at Pilipinas. Housing is no problem dito sa US at sa Pilipinas. Ang problema ko lang ay ang misis ko na ayaw manirahan sa Pilipinas na gusto lang magbakasyon with my daughter.

simple living does not mean you go cheap..bibili ka ng mura but madaling masira..you get what you pay for. when you retire you live on a budget and that's what you live by. if you have saved up for a new house and a car, go for it. I just retire and i plan to live a simple but comfortable life. i bought a new truck even i was not retired yet because when the house is going to be built i may not be able to get a car then.I bought the car on overtime money. the house will be built on saved up money plus any retirement incentives. i will live off of pension and social security. with just that i can live simple and comfortable.I'm debt free .paid the truck cash.

There are great hospitals here. We also reside in angeles, and when i was very sick, God surely leads us to go to the great and caring staff here in angeles and most of the doctors surely and veterans and its half of the price we pay, cash and easily done. I recovered and my doubt in ph healthcare was gone. In the hospital i saw alot of foreigners and surely it was like i am in the hospital of san diego cali.

My husband was in the US Army and he retired after 20 years. We moved back sa Pinas at the age of 44. Ginagamit namin ang nakukuha sa retirement and sa disability nya. Leaving comfortably dito sa Pinas. I encouraged my children to retire here sa Pinas too:-)

Yep! you'll live comfortably if you have 2 or more pensions from the US government, not only in the Philippines, but also here in the US. My husband also retired from USAF and the Federal Gov't. We preferred to retire here in the US, though we have a house back home, for convenience and peace of mind. We can't withstand the traffic, hot weather, monsoon rains, people/peddlers everywhere. I don't encourage my children to retire back home. It's better to stay here, where more opportunities are open. Medical care is the best, compared back in the Philippines. I will not trade our life here in the US anywhere in the world. We feel safe and enjoy the comforts that Uncle Sam bestowed on us..

@@PacitaEntilaI’m agree with that but I think it depends on the person. I have so many friends they retired in the Philippines too. I believe everything you said it’s true🙁 me and my husband will still keep our house here in US then we bought a condo in BGC Uptown just to stay there for 6 months and come back here for 6 months , because for sure I’m still gonna miss USA 😊♥️🙏

Been to BGC uptown. Nice place, parang fiesta lagi. Visited Pinas in April. It is hard to adjust and visualize the harsh reality of poverty pollution there. At the top of the condo patio, the breeze blows but the smell of Pasig river in hot weather, is discouraging. In the end, it is whatever makes you happy and comfortable. Maybe escape the winter here in Canada.

That’s the beauty of working in America! Although you also sacrifice early on to contribute to your (retirement)401k, you will reap the rewards of your labor when you retire. Even here in America, you need to be smart to think of your future, otherwise, there’s nothing there when you retire and Social Security alone is not enough to live on if you stay in America. That’s why I encourage my children to invest 15-20 percent of their income but they tell me, “that’s too much, I don’t want to be broke”. I tell them, “you’ll thank me later!” I noticed kids nowadays don’t think much of their future. Sometimes they even say “money is not everything”. But I compare our lives to theirs and we already acquired our own house when we were in our 20’s and being immigrant from the Philippines, while they’re in their 30’s with nothing to show for. Well, I guess, just different priorities.

@@gerricabanayan1194 Your advice about retirement is spot on. But getting a house to show for whoever these people is straight pits from delusion. No ones buying a 80% inflated houses at this current state in the housing market. You need a 50 to 60% of down-payment to have that house at lower rates of 7% to 12%. Those kids don't want to get tie to a mortgage of $1500 to $2100, to show the American Dream of having a house and financially stable. They rather throw that money in meme stocks that a lifetime servitude of extremely high mortgage rates.

No need to explain, madam. You deserve everything what you work hard for. I retired in the US military when I was 43 never work since then, I am now 53. Hinihintay ko lang si misis mag-retire when she turns 55 in 4 years. My question to you po. Why did you choose Pampanga, did you draw SSS early and do you still maintain a US home? My wife and I can live off on my military retirement, some investment and her 401k. We are not planning to draw SSS until its full maturity. Or is it best to draw now when we fully retire? Thank you po and great informative video.
