On Eid al-Adha we remember the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
In remembrance of his sacrifice and to help the poor and needy, we give our own sacrifice: Qurbani
What date is Eid-al Adha 2024?
The date may vary according to moon sightings in different parts of the world, but Eid-al Adha 2023 is predicted to begin at sunset on 16 June 2024.
How many days is Eid-al Adha?
Eid-al Adha is celebrated for 3 days.
When does Eid al-Adha end?
As the celebration lasts for 3 days, if Eid-al Adha begins at sunset on 16 June 2024, it will end on 19 June 2024.
Sacrifice on Eid al-Adha
Following the Eid prayer on the first day of Eid al-Adha, we stat to offer a sacrifice - qurbani - to remember the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to Allah (SWT).
A portion of this meat (from a sheep, goat, cow or camel) then goes to help our brothers and sisters in need.
Observances on Eid
As with any festival and important occasion, we follow the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
