53:24 Abhijit Chavda also said that only the USA, Russia, China, and India are truly sovereign because they don't have foreign military bases. Other countries often have foreign, mainly American or Russian, military bases on their soil. And today Balaji also reiterates the same thing, the countries which have US military bases are actually not independent sovereign countries.
@rob6927
Ай бұрын
There are more countries that don't have foreign military bases. He has good insights, but on some things he doesn't seem to have proper understanding like when he mixes up the UN and BRICS which are completely different organizations. BRICS is not there to replace the UN... What would he say about Iran for example? The US has a special position because the $ is a reserve currency, so it has leverage against every country, but even then there are countries which are their vassals ("allies") and those which are not, but still have to play by at least some of their rules.

@@rob6927 brics is not a group of just 5nations, it is a group of nation who have decided to end western hegemony. It is a collective of top oil producing nations and top oil consuming nations. As far as I remember 50 or some 100 nations have also applied to join BRICS, as in BRICS++. If dollar collapses, US will not be able to pass inflation to other countries like it did after 2008. US will lose it's status, Nato will crumble, if europe want to survive, they need russian cheap GAS, or EU will also crumble. In short western hegemony is ending, we will have muti polar world order, every big nation will try to exercise power in their region.

Don't agree with a lot of his points specifically on racist attacks, when Biden came into power, it sends a message to the racists that their boss is not in power and therefore the attacks may have come down. Does not mean, the attacks have ceased but you don't have as many brutal attacks. When you have a leader that says "Stand back and stand by" to a far-right white supremacist group Proud Boys, you know things can get pretty bad if he is in power. The head of the country matters and it is clear Balaji has RW agenda.

I think Ranveer tuned out two third into this interview. He was disinterested and everything was bouncing over his head. You could tell from the hasty exit he made at the end. I thouroughly enjoyed this Interview and Balaji's is a brilliant guy with a brilliant mind. Thank you Balaji.

it's a two part podcast, probably 1-2 more hours' worth to come out in the next couple of weeks...however he, did seem disinterested, well that's because he was expecting a sensational 'Clear Trump Victory' as an answer which he didn't get, rather Balaji gave him insights on how divided the state of the Union is. But I won't blame him, sitting there listening to someone for 3+ hours, you would start to lose focus. Plus, Balaji was pulling one graph after the other. The audience has the ability to pause, understand, decipher, dissect, debate, conclude and be amazed by the infographics. For Ranveer it was like graph dikha diya bencho, aur ek graph dikha diya bencho!

@@cool-as-cucumber Our people are living nowadays excessively dreaming about ancient civilizational glory and talking about our ancient wisdom and they're perspectives have become so distorted that they are not seeing the terrible reality of our society which is right in front of our eyes, the corrupt society, lack of civic sense, collapsing institutions, mass unemployment, economic overburdening of middle and low income, terrible quality infrastructure, pollution issues etc. Now after the budget released today people are slowly waking up to the reality. The problem will be fixed by first accepting that we have huge issues now, then discuss about how we can solve these issues, instead of being blissfully ignorant and living on past glory, and we need more people to wake up quickly or it will be too late.

Feel it is pretty much the same in India. Red is BJP & blue is INC. for all the bravado of BJP, INC still holds sway over SC, Universities, press and so forth. Narrative war is the same- fascist, last election, Constitution in danger. And for people who think that BJP got more electoral bonds, Congress has looted country for 60 years- so they have more money and power!

I could listen to this man all day such an insightful episode. First, I’d like to add that Obama was often mocked and accused by Trump of being Muslim and not born in America, to the point where he was forced to show his birth certificate. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama faced derogatory comments, being called ugly, rude, and even transgender. Consequently, Obama gave back to Trump at the Correspondents' Dinner. And the rest is history After living in America for almost 8 years, I can confidently say that it is not a racist country. The division in America isn’t based on race or political parties; it’s fundamentally about the rich versus the poor. Everything-whether it's the economy, race, abortion, or gun violence-boils down to the disparity between the wealthy and the impoverished.

Phenomenally insightful guest speaker. Thank you to the host who allowed him to answer at length. Regarding the assertion that 'the Left acts and the Right reacts' I would like to suggest that the Right represented the status quo, the traditional bastions of power and a vast number of previously marginalized populations ( such as woman) enjoy more freedom and AGENCY over their lives today, thanks to the left. That has to be acknowledged as a plus. However, radicals exist on both ends of the spectrum and it is heartening to see more thoughful people embrace Centrist ideas.

It's disappointing how much loaded language and bias there is in his analysis. To focus on the section about sexism since that is what I'm passionate about, I find it really interesting that he says that unmarried women vote democrat when there is also a clear correlation that young people are trending toward the left. Young women are obviously less likely to be married. But then he makes it clear why he is saying that when he says that these unmarried women are "married to the government". This, honestly, is sexist. Women can protect and provide for themselves. Also the assertion that the Republican men are strong is not factual in any way, how does he measure that? Because there are plenty of strong men on the Democratic side, who are very masculine. And on the flip side there are many Republican men who victimize themselves any time there is diversity in society and media. The truth is surely somewhere in the center. The idea that the left side is claiming that male and female don't exist and that no one knows what a woman is, also nonsense. I know what a woman is, I am one. The issue is that the Democratic side tends to accept the science that biology and sociology is much more complex than simply XX and XY chromosomes, and that transgender people exist. The Republican side denies this. Calling it a mind virus is simply wrong and bigotry. Politics is complicated, and it's difficult to talk about it in an unbiased and nuanced way. And it's especially hard to sift through information and get an unbiased factual perspective from a foreign country. I know from experience that here in the US we get a very misinformed view of India, and unfortunately I think this analysis does the same in the opposite direction.

Alternative view- Americans move to blue states because they are economically depressed, and therefore they can afford to buy a house. California, for example, is the most blue state and very strong economically. Most people can't afford California, but that surely doesn't mean that they leave because they aren't democrats.

Appreciate such an insightful podcast, great learning experience, especially being an Indian American. One complaint though, while listening on Spotify the voice quality was really poor. As the guest would start showing the data , his voice would go really low, it kinda breaks the momentum and interest in the podcast.
