The Missus and I met and married in San Diego. Her cousin was a cocktail waitress here. There is nothing, and I repeat, nothing, like an evening at Bali Hai. An absolute must.

You got it Bob ! Did you go there in the '70s by chance ? (or were you even born yet ? LOL !) I ask because my favorite dish there was Chicken of the Gods. Absolutely sumptuous and heavenly. Cheers to you and to Bali Hai !!!

@@marciasanguinetti3900 Didn't discover Bali Hai until early 1980s. One of the world's great watering holes. (I was born in the '50s.)

@@gratefultube YAY ! Those of us lucky enough to be born in the 50's rule !!! And not only was Bali Hai a great watering hole, so was The Aspen Mine Company on El Cajon Blvd., Krishna Mulvany's in PB, and Bollweevel's Burgers adjacent to La Jolla Cove too. Then my all time favorite pub for pizza, beer and atmosphere was Carnegie A-440 in Del Mar on Carmel Valley Road and for authentic Mexican food - Don Jose's on El Cajon Blvd. with Ruth being the best server EVER. And let us not forget the best Italian food and cozy booths at Old Trieste !!! And last but certainly not least: OUTSTANDING ABALONE and VIEWS: Anthony's Star of the Sea...... Were we not born in the 50's, look what we would have missed !!! Cheers to you, M.

@@marciasanguinetti3900 It was my privilege to work for The Aspen Mine Company when they opened the restaurant in Tustin in Orange County. Bill Berkley, Mike Moony, Jeff the Bartender. A grand saloon and dinner house. The Willow Trio entertaining. 1973-1974

@@gratefultube WOW !!! That is amazing and how fortunate you were. What great memories. We loved sitting in that dark creaky old tavern bar watching the ski out-takes which had us roaring. My husband to be took me there on my 21st birthday and I had my first legal drink of the times: a tall fresh strawberry daiquiri. We then went into dinner and had their cheese fondue starter, their infamous bottomless help yourself bowl of salad fixin's and a huge cut of bone-in prime rib that was hanging off my plate ! No room for desert LOL ! Nowadays I'd order the very same meal were they still open however sub the daiquiri for a mellow Manhattan up. Cheers !!!
