In Canada parts are 100% tax deductible. New equipment depreciates after 4 years ( no more tax deductions). In the long run older equipment will make you more money if you have the skill to kept repairing.

Excellent video Trenton! Your thoughts are always appreciated and respected here. Camera angles are amazing. Great views of the area and the work. Beautiful little fawn that seemed curious about you. Glad you were able to sort out the mower. Reminded me of one of your videos a few years ago when you had issues with the bale wrapper. Problem after problem. Really felt for you...and then the levers fell off the control block. Sometimes it all comes at once. You stuck to it. Got it all done. Just one of the reasons you and your family are held in the highest regards here. Thanks for the video and the education!

TrenTON! Nice video, really enjoyed it. Yeah it's hard to know when to quit rebuilding and buy something else. That turtle shell blowing up like that is really weird, makes a guy wonder if it had a manufacture flaw that finally gave way. Don't know if you saw it but Ashlyn Rohrer over near Lancaster (Rohrer Dairy Productions) came up on a fawn and got a really cool picture of him holding it he has on his intro, he carried of to safety to grow up. I was thinking, if you could ever get your hands on a 12 ft Salford I 1100 used, would be the perfect semi tillage trash chopping, break up the crust, tool for you. I think it takes about 140 t0 150 horse to pull it, but they look pretty easy to repair and reconfigure. I know you've seen the big ones on Larson Farms. Just seems a small one of those would tolerate rocks and hillsides. A guy's gotta dream right? Good hanging with you man, thanks for the video, take care.

I like the angle iron mount your dad made, it seems to work great for the monitor. Have you ever thought about mounting your camera somewhere in the cab facing you so that you can use both hands in the tractor, just a thought. Great video Trent. 👍

Sadly, family farms like this are being forced out of business by conglomerate farms. Milk prices are not what they should be, fuel costs, and equipment cost don't help either.

Sad to say but the old New Holland 1411 were really good mowers and when they went to new numbers they went to crap real quick....had a 1411 and it was a great mower bought a 2013 and it was absolutely a piece of trash didn't last like the old 1411 did so we switched to a new JD c400 last spring and it is was a absolute piece of trash as well so JD actually bought it back from us and we went to a new Kuhn and so far it's been a great mower for us but we haven't got through one mowing season yet so I guess time will tell but personally the new JD and New Holland are garbage.... I definitely would shop around when u decide to buy a mower.👍👍
