Diameter of the ballscrew or other type of lead screw makes a difference as well. It's about the ramp angle of the threads.

Hi Jemes, Yes in some of my videos, There are Typo errors, Just because I'm doing all the production work alone, now we have a cross check community. So errors have been minimised. But there is no error in the definitions, concepts, and formulas 👍

Hi Charan, As we calculate the torque and speed in this video, We can calculate the power, Motor Power equal to Torque × angular speed. As we have calculated in the conveyor.

Nice video! Just one suggestion, you should add the acceleration as a parameter and use the inertia of the motor when selecting. If you don't take the inertia into account you might end up with a system that will work but won't accelerate correctly (so you might never reach the maximim speed of the project, depending on the length of the actuator).

Hi, Thank you so much for your suggestion, Yes we should definitely consider MOI of all rotating elements (Ball screw + Coupling + Motor itself) during Torque calculations. I'll bring this calculation in dedicated motor selection series. Here I missed it, but I have considered double FOS.

What does the 2000 conversion factor on the bottom of the torque calculation convert?
@mastermechanicaldesign
8 ай бұрын
This is actually 2*pi (if we use ball screw lead in meter) but as you are using "mm" unit for ball screw lead in this equation. This is why its 2*1000*pi Don't ask me why we use 2*pi "It's a long drive equation of mechanics physics"

Hello! How could I determine the axial force for the ballscrew? Thanks for the videos, you're doing a great job!
@mastermechanicaldesign
10 ай бұрын
You most welcome Luka, Ball screw axial force - Yes use the same formula. if you have defined motor torque, and Ball screw pitch then P which is axial force, this is your Ball screw maximum axial force.

@@mastermechanicaldesignThanks for the reply. I should've added that I have not defined the motor torque, nor I have some specifications about motor except it should be BLDC servo. Do you have any idea how should I continue?
@mastermechanicaldesign
10 ай бұрын
Look first of all, as we all know ball screw is just like a gearbox, not producing any force or power itself. It all depends on motor torque. No matter its BLDC or servo motor, if motor torque will high. Ball screw axial force will be high. Now how much torque? So first make selection of ball screw and calculate the ball screw pitch . And there is video on it. Then calculate you can either calculate ball screw axial force as per given motor torque or you can calculate required motor torque as per required axial force over ball screw, using same equation as in this video

Brother ball screw pitch take In meter not in mm .
@mastermechanicaldesign
Жыл бұрын
No. Pitch has to be taken in mm, hence "2000" conversion factor is in this equation. If you want pitch in a meter just change this factor to 2, best practices is pitch in mm this is why this equation is like this.
