I've played music intuitively my entire life. But I've never learned the theory behind, nor I do ever rely on it. And these videos make me realize I'm missing out on so much. A lot of musicians tell me that I sound special because I embrace my limitations, but I want to expand them a bit. I want to be able to navigate harmonies like you guys do. Thanks for the inspiration, I don't know where to even begin. There's a lot of unlearning to do.

As a bass player I learned years ago to lay out for a section occasionally, because then when the bass comes back in it becomes a dramatic point of contrast. Whether you play an instrument, are a vocalist, band leader or arranger, always think of ways to bring little interesting changes, little surprises, to the listener.

Brilliant - 1. Without the Bass for a while gives the Music a kind of Sweet "Mid-Range" "Floating" Harmony & then when the Bass/Roots do come in it feels/sounds like God is swooping down & "Grounding" us - bringing us back down to Earth once again. 2. The Bass Players (them low Bottom-Notes) are the real Gate-Keepers of the Earth. 3. This will work good in a pinch when your Bass player leans his Bass against his amp, jumps off the stage in the middle of a tune (with people dancing) to go take a pee (too much beer) & leaves you hanging (true story - Haw 🤠 !). 4. It's "All in the Bass", Baby ! TY.
