This week I made more progress on my new layout.
I started by giving all the landform a coat of brown paint, ready for scenery to go down.
Next up was ballasting. Geoscenics (who make the excellent wagon tarpaulins I’ve featured before) very kindly offered to supply my ballast and road/yard products for this video, which are outstanding.

The ballast I used was
- Geoscenics N Gauge Limestone
- Geoscenics N gauge Granite

For the yard I used
- Geoscenics Yard ash (www.geoscenics.co.uk/Geoscenics-ash-pit?search=Ash)
- Geoscenics siding cinders (www.geoscenics.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=151&search=Cinders)
For the road area I used the Geoscenics road kit.

Next I got some dry stone walls down. These are available from Osbourne Models. I was shown these by Tony, his excellent channel is here:

Next was static grass. I used:
- Modelscene 2mm spring
- Modelscene 4mm Summer
- Peco 6mm straw
I used hairspray as a layering spray.
Finally, I added a scratch built row of cottages.
As always, thanks for watching!
