You could literally publish any frame of that footage as a photo. Every time you stopped it,a perfect pose.

I saw Yasmin and Matthew at swan lake in the cinema, it was gorgoeeeees! Actually my first live performance ever, genuinely, it was such an amazing experience, they dancing and acting were so good. Got to the cinema right after class, I still had my ballet bun on and my pointe shoes drying out on my seat😅 I love this deconstructions, they helped me so much. My jumps are a lot better since your Natalia Osipovas jumps video. Thank u Katie 🫶🏻

I love your commentary!! Yasmine's dancing was so fresh! There was something very ethereal and flawless about her... I wonder, though, if it can last the whole ballet and keep my interest. I love dancers that leave a little room for a "human" movement. Like Osipova, she's not perfect all the time but she brings the character so well onto the stage!

Thanks so much for deconstructing 👍 I was privileged to see Yasmine Naghdi & Matthew Ball do this at the ROH and have never ever been able to see Bluebird since without remembering how AMAZING they were. (Now that they are principals, am sad we won't see them dance this together again at the Royal Ballet.)

Thank you for doing this - I've watched that video of that variation so many times because they are just so beautiful. Loved the very final flutter of Matthew's hand in that last lift, too, as he brings his hand down to finish the pose. I'd say do more of these with the RB but I am biased and very lucky to have been able to watch them perform on stage for real. Well worth the ticket price if you're ever in the UK!

I totally agree, I flew from Italy a couple of times to see Royal Ballet and it was an incredible experience, they are such good actors that you forget you are seeing ballet and you are transported in an other world. And such perfect technique. Also thank you Katie for these videos, they are jewels for ballet lovers.

I was lucky enough to see Yasmine Naghdi perform Aurora last year when I was in London. I scored a last minute seat near the orchestra on opening night. I also was able to watch her rehearse the Rose adagio 2 days before opening night on a tour of the Royal Opera house. Amazing experience!

I’m not sure how it would work with KZitem rules but the royal opera house has a streaming service that shows their back catalogue, including a previous Swan Lake with Yasmine (as well as a Marianela version of almost everything). If it’s not breaking KZitem rules, you could grab the footage there to react to.

Thank you for your compliments! To clarify, I was not kicked out of a ballet company. I chose to leave. I got very ill at New York City Ballet and chose to put my health first. And for Miami, I danced for a season and left to put my mental health first. The ballet world is very tough, and I’m grateful I can dance and make a living on my own terms. ❤️

@@kathryn_morgan Hey Kathryn. I saw Swan Lake a couple of weeks ago with Yasmine. I did not really like the version of the story they did. However “Oh my god” Yasmine was so wonderful, so grateful and beautiful. Michael was also a true force. The finale was so powerful atmospheric and moved me to tears. I love your breakdowns and have learned so much 🙏💙
