Solid for both teams. Seranthony changed his slider grip this year and it took time for him to be able to throw it for strikes. He has been dominant in the past and I wish him well. Phillies got exactly what they wanted without giving any prospects imo. Would love to meet the Os in the WS.

Phillies fan here, think you nailed it! Too early to tell who won! I liked Pache but we already have another project in Rojas! Seranthony has/had the heat but who knows where it’s going? If someone could reel him in just a little, they may have something!

Hays totally expendable as the Orioles are loaded with high upside outfield prospects. If they can get Dominguez on track he’s a stud. So, the orioles trade a piece they don’t need for a dice roll chance to hit it out of the park. Dominguez could be an absolute stud. Great trade by the Orioles.

First thought with Pache is that he’s gonna get packaged and dropped to another team, maybe with Urias, to scoop up a similar middle of the road reliever from someone else

This one stings as an O’s fan but needed to happen. Hays struggled bad early this season which gave enough of a window to Cowser and Kjerstad to produce and get the O’s dreaming about their upside. In other words, Hays lost his grip on his spot and others jumped at the opportunity. That’s baseball. I know Hays was a vet on the team and a respected dude, but it might end up as a better situation for all parties to have Pache take his place as the bench OF/pinch-run guy for the O’s…a position that more clearly fits a player of his skill set and production in the bigs thus far. There has to be some awkwardness having a former All-Star and one of your most tenured players riding the pine that much.

I like it. Hays isn't going to win us a WS. Solid (some of the time), but I wouldn't say he's a difference maker. It's a clear upgrade in the bp. I'll take that all day long.

Seranthony has plus-plus stuff. His biggest red flag is his brain. He gets in his own head in clutch situations. His command suffers. Good luck with him. No takebacks.

I got the teaser story today on my phone with a pic of Hays… really thought they pulled the trigger on a SP. Clicked on the story and read it….I was disappointed at first, but then I came to the conclusion that this was likely more a salary dump type trade for a BP arm; with the saved salary in the trade launching Elias toward a bigger deal for a big SP later… fingers crossed! Toes crossed too!

From a phillies fans perspective; Dominguez can be a really good bullpen arm. Hes been struggling with confidence more than anything, you give him some and he could be the best in your pen. Pache has been pretty mid to trash. He hasnt been improving at all and actually regressed K. Long is an excellent hitting coach and Pache still cant hit middle middle fastballs

Seranthony can be NASTY. In 2018 he had 16 saves, below 3 ERA, WHIP below 1 with 74 K in 58 IP. His career ERA is 3.55. This is a valuable piece.

If they can work with him, and I think they will, very cool. But, 2018 doesn't count, his current ERA is 4.75. We already have that.

Trade makes sense. Hays' playing time and production has diminished and the outfielders have a surplus of outfielders. To get a high velocity reliever back as well as an outfielder for a part time player who's declined statistically it's a win for the O's. Hope Hays does well for the Phillies but it's the right move for the O's. Pache isn't going to play much for the O's in my opinion. Probably a depth guy or someone for insurance if someone gets hurt.

Hays, Mullins, Urias are all on their way out, and they still may be traded before Tuesday. But the Orioles are not going to give these guys a raise for next year, so get something for them, and free up space for the young guys. I'm fine with the trade., I wish Hay's the best, but it's time to move on.
