This weeks video is my version of Tom Baltz's, Iron X Caddis. Tom is a great tier and guide from here in my region of Central Pennsylvania. I've had the privilege of getting to know Tom through doing the tying circuit here on the East Coast. Tom's been at this pretty much as long as I've been alive. So, if he suggests something you stop and listen and take it in.
This is a great caddis dry fly that works great as a match the hatch pattern and also doubles for a great dry dropper style dry fly. There is a lot of material on this fly that can soak up the floatant to make a nice indicator for you. My suggestion is you tie it smaller like down to 18's for your "match the hatch" kind of patterns, and larger size 12 ones to use for indicators. I also suggest using some different colored yarns for sighters on this fly because you tend to see different colors better in different light conditions. your indicator is useless if you can't see it.
Please go to our website www.holsingers... if you need any of the materials to tie this fly or others. And also please take the time to like and subscribe to our channel and leave a comment of you haven't already. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel and shop all these years.
