The slogan "We will bring down the capitalists in the Party" is currently as important as back then.

Can anyone tell me where those film excerpts are from? I'm researching the period, because there is a lot of liberal and rightist pseudo-whining about it, and would love to watch them in their entirety?

Based Totalism I think he means theyre only pretending to care about the "poor trillions of innocent babies killed every second under mao" because its convienient for them, they dont actually care about chinese people at all, they care about whats politically convenient for them. They're psudo whining because theyre only pretending to even care, thats what i think he means at least
@vazzeg

That is exactly what I mean. The whining of people who for instance think that there is one shed of credibility in worthless "academic" books like the Black Book of Communism. Anyway, I still couldn't find out where the footages are from, but there is a documentary series by a French camera crew from the time of the Cultural Revolution called How Yukong moved the Mountains. Started watching it yesterday, I highly recommend it.

why not? rap is a form of black art that was cultivated in the ghettos as a form of expression and resistence, and it used to be more consistently political and radical. mao met with the black panthers, w.e.b. du bois, and other afro-american communists and emphasized his solidarity with the black freedom struggle. sure its not his culture so he wouldnt be used to it but theres no reason to think he wouldnt appreciate it given its history
