The Bambu Lab spools are reusable, so you buy more filament on cardboard inner reel only and then reuse the spools.

You can also transfer cardboard based spools into them for better compatibility with the AMS.

Thank you. I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't hearing incorrectly haha. This illustrates the perils someone who Is Color blind experiences and how it truly ruins lives. Let's just hope he never has to resort to counterfeiting and tries to deposit some orange bills at the bank haha

That "wasted" plastic spool can be used to transfer filament, via a printed transfer tool, from cardboard rolls that don't play nicely with the AMS.

Since the A1 has gone down in flames, the P1S Combo is the way to go. Don't know why the P1P would be recommended. Will probably be discontinued.

Thanks for this video Chris. I bought a p1p and upgraded it a little over a week ago to a p1s using the upgrade kit. I agree that the p1s is a very good deal in comparison to the p1p (and the x1c for that matter), but I am a hobby printer and did not see use for a second printer. I am happy that Bambu lab offered the upgrade kit. If you are a new buyer go for the p1s, it's a great deal and a fantastic printer at a very decent price

I like how the dude relays in detail the unboxing and examining each individual part. The loads of useless info in this video is great. I want the video to include him placing the order online and waiting for the delivery while watching TV in his living room.

Too bad it doesn't run on Linux like the X1. There's now an open source jailbreak firmware, X1 Plus. It's completely legal and runs as a layer on top of the OEM firmware. Unfortunately it's only applicable to the X1 printers because none of Bambu's other models run on Linux.

If you have the AMS, just know that cardboard spools don't work with it. You can reuse a plastic spool, and transfer filament from cardboard spools to it. There are printable tools to make that process simple.

Hello, Anyone have P1S with Ams? I read on reddit that you should have the door open and the lid off when printing PLA, that the lid should be off is a dealbreaker for me as I have limited space and can only have AMS on top of the lid. The machine advertises with AMS on the lid, if this does not work with PLA, it is a bit misleading, can anyone confirm? Note! KZitem algorithm seems to have difficult to find your video, you should rename the headline and skip "The".

Thanks for the tip. I have updated the title. Also, to answer your question. I have been using the P1S without opening the door and with the AMS on top of the printer with the lid on it works just fine.

It has a pre installed camera, but it isn't "like" the X1C's, per se. It's a downgrade from the X1C's camera, at not even 1080p and running at like 5/FPS. It's also not upgradable due to Bambu being very proprietary focused. They have their printers pretty well locked down and I don't see them making the required changes on their end to allow for a camera upgrade. . The camera in the X1C is significantly better. It also uses LiDAR, enabling fail detection that the P1S doesn't have. The camera is arguably the most complained about difference between the two printers. There's another major difference now between the P1 and X1 - the recently released open source jailbreak firmware, X1 Plus. It was built in Linux by members of the X1 user community and is completely open source. It's also completely legal, as it runs as a layer on top of Bambu's OEM X1 firmware. It's unfortunately only applicable to the X1 series, because it's the only Bambu printer that runs on Linux. Had I been aware of it before I opened the P1S I got from my wife for Christmas, I may have decided that open source firmware was enough to make it worth exchanging and shelling out the difference in cost. The P1S is still an excellent printer, though, and well worth its cost. It's still the best value in Bambu's current offerings for a lot of people.
