Water: 3 cups (for cooking dal)
Salt: to taste
Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato: 1 medium, finely chopped
Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste)

Garam masala powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin powder:1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds (jeera): 1 teaspoo
Cardamom, Black Cinnamon, Green Cinnamon
Cooking Oil : 1/2cup
Ginger & Garlic paste
For Tempering (Tadka):
butter : 1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds (jeera): 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Kashmiri red chili powder (optional for color): 1/2 teaspoon
Salt: to taste
Kasturi methi (dried fenugreek leaves): 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves for Garnishing
