2024 and I’m here listening to this banger for it makes me imagine that my late dad (whom I can’t remember by the way cause he died when I was still very young) would listen to as his younger brother used to jam to it a lot ❤

He is basically saying he would nothing without his family. He would always be crying without his mukowa(extended family) Bana(children)mwinangu(wife).
@crimsonknight5575
9 ай бұрын
The title 'bana bangu' means 'my children'. Smokey opens the first verse with unreserved and assured realisation of just how blessed he is to have family - his family; so he sings something to the effect of: 'if it weren't for my family, I don't know what'd be of me, I'd be weeping, if it were for my family, if I didn't have family I don't know I'd be miserable -I thank my family. if I didn't have my wife I don't know.. every so often I'd be tearful, if it wasn't with my wife, if it weren't for my wife, If I didn't have my wife, every so often I'd be in tears/I'd be "crying" every so often - I thank you my wife. If it weren't for for my children I don't know.. every so often I'd be pitiful; if I didn't have my children I'd be such a sorry sorrowful sight - I thank you my children. I pray for my family and my wife because they end my sorrows. I pray for my children because they're the reason my sorrow fades away I pray for my children - I pray for my children. Jesus..! I thank my family ..and my wife ..and my children because they're the reason of my joy. (may) God guide (/bless) them well.
