What he said is that the banana once planted deep can go with out water for that period or more until it gets water. In other words it can take some strain. However bananas do like alot of water and will grow nicely with lots of water.

Bananas, are incredibly good, nutritious and grow very easily in tropical countries. The banana leaves are used as wrappers and many years ago, I remember Thai people using them on top of houses to make a roof which had to be replaced every now and then. I had a horrible inflamation of the gums which lasted a long time and I couldn't possibly brush my teeth. My teeth were starting to look very dirty after a while so I took a piece of banana leaf and started to gently massage my teeth, there was more saliva instantly produced and my teeth became very white again. I also chewed a piece of a banana leaf to get rid of the "dirt" on top of my tongue; it worked almost instantly. Today, I no longer use a toothbrush but just leaves, a great one I discovered is the leaf they use in Cambodia to cook amok, to clean your tongue and have a fresh breath there are many plants, one of my favourite is curry leaves, a leaf which seem to have a twin attached because of its shape. I'll keep experimenting so please keep informing us, another all purpose tree is the coconut tree which I have renamed Tree of the Gods because it can save your life if you get dehydrated when it's fresh, you can make coconut milk (they have saved many baby elephants in Africa whose mothers were killed for the ivory, by feeding them coconut milk), its purpose is just too wide to be mentioned here. I love coconut milk so much in banana smoothies, soups and desserts. My requests for next videos are: 1. How to grow coconut trees, harvest them and use them 2. How to grow avocado trees, harvest the fruit and how to store them. 3. How to grow food in tropical countries by following the principles of permaculture (food forest). Thank you in advance. God Bless You All!

Banana plants are an integral part of Hindu culture. We use the leaves as biodegradable plates and the food eaten on banana leaves are said to be more digestible. The edible inner core is said to be keep hypertension in control. Even the raw banana(cooked) is eaten and is a delicacy in the eastern part of India. The flowers are also edible.

My best friend linked this channel to me and I must say I find your style inspirationally humble. I am amused by the call to move to a tropical country for the sake of growing bananas. It's a cheerful thought that despite lacking western wealth and privelege, you enjoy the simple things in life so much more than we usually get to. I would love to try my hand at small scale farming here in New Zealand. I enjoy gardening a lot and have kept chickens before, and I have such an affinity for those animals.

I'll take your advice I'll be moving with my Indonesian wife to Bali I appreciate all your great information, & knowledge sharing. God willing you can come and visit us. I'll be building some modest sized all bamboo Greenhouse/homes I hope the idea grows in neighborhood so we could have an entire population I'm self sufficiency with minimal money generation by selling the surplus of what our fellow population produces first we need a website where true consensus voting can get everyone on the same page and then everyone will sign the contract which states they will do their portion of the predetermined chores necessary we will sell Surplus (outside of our borders only) for the most part only to pay property taxes.. If you have an interest in helping to develop such a way of life I would be grateful if you could find time to have a conversation with me. @@beatamafulu2405 I haven't received your email reply. I think it best if I could speak with you via Skype or Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger. You name the platform you prefer and I'll try to get back with you - That is if you give me your contact number or name to search through whichever platform you choose. Or perhaps if you subscribe to my KZitem channel which has no videos produced by me - but many (in my categorized playlists) by KZitem creators. You can try to personal message me there or you can try to find me on one of the other platforms I'm usually named fellowvillager but not followed by many people I believe it's due to my to my anti-political attitude and disgust for what money does to most people - and due to my outspokenness it seems the controllers of the internet keep me rather shadowbanned and stifled. So if you're not able to get through to me on any of the recommended platforms it's because it seems I may be blacklisted by the internet controllers of the (money monger) world. And that would be why we're not able to connect too easily through their controlled by algorithms and keywords "type Networks". Networks geared predominantly to generate money for the wealthy and thus not permit freedom for those who found a way to predominantly disconnect from the money monger world - and achieve it ((at least to a much higher degree than the average drone worker amongst their owned by debt type masses)).
