Black Hole: Kanami wants a super-fast tempo song, where she, Misa and Akane just go nuts the whole time. So it'll be an instrumental, right? Nope, we'll have one of their most complex vocal harmonies to go over top of that, thank you. Brilliant song.
There must be reasons why they like lower mix on lead guitar. Sometimes I want to hear the PRS more but other times I enjoy the rest because the lead guitar is not showing off. リードギターの音が小さいのは他のパートがよく聞こえることで曲全体を楽しむためだと勝手に解釈してます。Great performance!

I was amazed when I heard the CD that came with the UnseenWorld scorebook. The fact is that there are four versions of the same song, and all of them are so good that it is hard to believe they are the same. One is the studio version (the original version). The next is the evolutionary version (the upgraded version), which is performed live. Then there is the acoustic version, played on acoustic guitar. Finally, the instrumental version, performed without vocals. And the thing is that each version is so great and new to discover, that it sounds like a completely different song. When you listen to the instrumental version of BLACK HOLE, it's easy to understand why this song was first called "Hell" by the band members. It's so dark, scary, intense, hot and powerful that it's hard to believe it's the same song. It is said that every time you hear a BAND-MAID song, you discover something new about it. The girls have admitted in interviews that they continue to revise their songs with each live concert. It's like the great composer Bruckner, who is known for his revisionist approach to music. It is "inevitable" that the live performance will be "superior" to the CD. There is no longer any doubt about their talent. We can only stand and applaud these five geniuses with a big "Bravo".

@@realdocloco Hi Philippe, a very good friend of mine here from my neighbourhood played in the band "Soul Caravan" (later Xhoul (Caravan) in the late 60s and he told me that the bass was a very melodic and important instrument for the Motown sound which was very popular at that time. I think he even had a 6-string Hagström bass when he had a hit in Germany with "So much Soul". I therefore started to look more closely at Motown and to hear and see a lot from the time. There is an excellent documentary about the "Funk Brothers" (Standing in the Shadows of Motown) who were the studio band of the Supremes, Sam & Dave and also the Four tops for example. And now I come to the real point of my remarks: MISA's bass playing reminds me very much of James Jamerson. And now the background vocals on Black Hole and especially Warning are added to that. It sounds a hell of a lot like Motown and after a lot of searching I found a song that comes close to that, and it's "Bernadette" by the Four Tops. Those lively bass melodies and behind them the guys singing their aaaah's and ooooh's. I don't know where Kobato and Saiki got that from, but I don't want to rule out that they have also listened to songs from the era.
@realdocloco

@@joki5346 James Jamerson for sure but also Carol Kaye I would say. About six-strings bass: they were quite popular during the sixties indeed - the Beatles often used a Fender VI on songs like Helter Skelter or Let it be ( played by John, not Paul). I have one (the Squier version, surprisingly good with a bit of work). It instantly sounds "sixties".

Two performances that make me forget all manners and only pull me further into the black hole called 'Band-Maid'. 😏🔥 Thanks for refreshing the memories of a really great day. A performance that was a hell of a lot of fun to watch, even sitting in front of a screen. And again, big praise and thanks to the people in the background who are and were responsible for the production. Especially to the technicians on site that day, who certainly had it anything but easy at the end of this show. :) A not-so-small and very selfish part of me wishes that the whole show from that day would also get a release on disc. As these two performances impressively prove, it certainly would deserve it. 🔥🤘🏻 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 】🕊️

The more I listen to both of these songs, the more I think "masterpiece". Every note and sound is intentional and specific, each selected for a reason that fits the song's purpose. It's so rare to notice this in *any* rock song, much less two in a row. Some great bands never composed any song this well.
These two songs combine perfectly to show you their wide range songwriting. Groove VS demon speed, space VS fullness, rock VS metal. Band Maid doing Band Maid things.

I love the fact that she starts a band, sacks herself as vocalist, gets someone better for this type of music, proceeds to learn guitar from scratch, and becomes a decent rhythm guitarist, while still doing back up vocals, lyrics, and magic tricks during the intermission at concerts. And she's the spokesperson. Little ball of energy. With vision. How many make their dream come true -- and come true so well. Finding Kanami was a miracle-po as she says. And finding Akane, Misa, and Saiki. Miku is a great talent magnet. Very special pigeon.
