Bandlab is incredible, I personally prefer the web interface though, it's just so much better for workflow but regardless, Bandlab should seriously consider listening to our concerns. For one, we should natively be able to turn our synthesized sounds into packs that can then be shared or sold for looping. Another thing that TRULY annoys me about working with prerecorded snippets like vocals is that they'll only play when the slider is positioned before the node for that file, leaving you to listen to the whole segment or cut it into individual nodes, they need to add a button that "activates" a "play from current position" setting to avoid this absolute waste of time.

Stefan Bachrodt Hi, if you prefer to work from computer and your computer is Windows, I would suggest using Cakewalk (by BandLab) instead, you can import songs you make in bandlab and Cakewalk is not only free but is based on Sonar X1, which was a seriously professional DAW before it was sold to BandLab. It also supports VST2 and VST3, so a huge range of free and paid for instrument, loops and fx plugins are available for it.

@@IbandUK I heard you mention it in the video but my PC is already so clogged with VST plugins, sample packs and Soundfonts for FL that I hardly ever use so I didn't take the time to look into Cakewalk. It depends on the size I suppose, and if it's still compatible with win7. I'll check it out now, if it beats FL studio in terms of virtual instruments I may consider uninstalling FL and the VSTs although Ample Guitar & Precession is pretty awesome, I'll miss them even if I seldom use them 🤣 There were others too but I can't even remember what they were called

Stefan Bachrodt BandLab stripped out almost all the virtual instruments when they bought Sonar from Gibson Guitars (so they could make it free) but VSTs are universal, so you should be able to use your VSTs like Ample Guitar in Cakewalk as well

@@IbandUK that's fantastic!! I watched a video where it mentioned pointing it to the VST file path. Busy downloading Cakewalk now. I see they had Melodyne as an option which is next level cool (if they're offering it free) I've already got it tho, it's a really powerful tool for me since I lack creativity, so I whistle or hum a tune then use Audacity to clean it and Melodyne to quantize and convert it to a midi file, you can imagine the benefits to something like that.

Ahh bugger, just finished the downloading process and it says win7 is not "officially supported"... I'll continue anyway and cross my fingers

I don't understand what you're talking about when you said you have to record your sample in the same key the same beats permit you have to do that while you're in bandlab or do you do it in Cakewalk
@IbandUK
Жыл бұрын
M Dacosta Each looper pack has a fixed key scale and tempo that can't be changed, so if you hack a looper to add your own sample loops, you should record your loop samples in the same key scale and at the same tempo as the looper pack you intend to hack. Otherwise your samples will not play back in the right key scale and the right tempo when you add the looper pack to your project.

I dont know why but the sound of the metronome is recorded into the track as well and i cannot remove it. Can you please help?
@IbandUK
3 жыл бұрын
sempo Po Hi, the metronome icon is at the bottom right of the screen, tap on it to turn it on or off. The metronome will only be recorded if you don't wear headphones when recording with the microphone (the microphone picks up the sound of the metronome).

Can you please explain me the "snap" thing in Bandlab mobile app!??
@IbandUK
3 жыл бұрын
Sacrament0311 Hi, when snap is on (highlighted green) the beginning of notes (in step sequencer) or beginning of a recorded section (on the track mixer screen) is automatically aligned to the nearest quarter note (in step sequencer) or half note (on the track mixer screen). Snap helps you line up notes or recordings, rather like quantization. When snap is off you can freely move notes or recordings to exactly where you want them, like when you need to move a recording that is out of sync with the other recordings, to create off beat drum patterns or make a midi instrument sound more natural.

Facundo Palomeque It is my understanding that BandLab loops and sanples are royalty free so have no copyright but you would need to check the copyright of loops and samples from other sources.
