Great review and excellent point about spending the extra coin on a pair of high quality headphones as the saying goes “buy once, cry once”. I love my BeoPlay H95’s and they are way better than the Apple AirPod Max’s (aka APM’s) in every way except the ANC. I would have probably ended up keeping the APM’s but after going through three (3) pair that all failed within 25 days of daily regular use (about 6hrs/day) I had to throw in the towel and admit that Apple has a serious design flaw issue. All three of them had the same failure where the transparency mode would start to switch on, off, on, off continuously without touching the button and no amount of factory resets or soft resets solved the problem so when I got my AppleCare+ forth replacement pair they were sold immediately. These failures (and there are a lot of them) with the APM’s seems to be linked to the moisture buildup in the ear cups and the air pass through holes around the drivers that allows the moisture to get into the internal electronics which have no moisture protection. Apple refuses to acknowledge this issue and I am willing to bet that every pair of APM’s in existence will fail due to the moisture issue given enough time unless Apple does some secretive modifications to the internal electronics to protect from moisture damage. Anyway, making the jump to the H95’s came out of my need to have headphones with aptx low latency codex’s for watching TV via FireStick or Apple TV (to eliminate lip sync issues like those with the Sony XM4’s and Bose NC700’s which are unusable for TV watching via Bluetooth) while also wanting comfort (these are way lighter than the APM’s and don’t slide off your head) and great ANC (the APM’s had slightly better ANC but not by much and the ANC is way better than Bose & Sony). These headphones checked all those boxes and I have no regrets so far after a month of daily (6-7hrs) of use. No issues to report and the latest version of SW is nice in that you can hear your own voice while on a call like with the Bose NC700’s. The dials on the ear cups for volume and transparency is better than using touch controls and the use of high quality materials makes these headphones the only pair you will ever need.

I hope you still are doing progress when it comes to simplifing your life. Simplicity is also my style. It’s better to own a few quality products, then many average things. Right now I am waiting for my Beoplay H95, which should arrive right over the weekend. I got a good deal, and got them brand new for. GBB 550. I have good experiences with Bang & Olufsen from previously, and since I am not a bass head, I much more prefer the neutral sound signature of the danish brand. Before buying H95, I tried out the brand new B&W PX8, which are good looking, but has way too much emphasis on base to my taste.

I have the H95’s and you are right they are amazing and definitely the best Bluetooth headphones on the market. I don’t quite agree about the Apple AirPods Pro though as I still think they are pretty good. Most of these buds are very similar sounding anyway so you will never get the clarity of over-ear cans. Good review though! 👍

Have been watching so many videos of people commending apple and other brands for their sound quality and value compared to B&O's products. But when I take a listen myself, no single brand delivers the quality B&O does. People are buying apple because it is apple, not because it is a better brand/product. A lot of B&O products are also gonna last for decades. While they are expensive at first, they are so much less expensive if they're kept over very long periods of time. That's better for your personal wallet, and also for the environment.

It could be a good collaboration for apple in the sense that many apple customers appreciate sleek design but i'd say a lot don't value top tier performance as much. Most apple customers probably wouldn't appreciate that level of audio quality compared to the price. It's the same with their computers they're good they can be configured to be very good but specs to cost are always behind compared to PC's but they satisfy average to moderate users.

I spent three years listening to over 30 different speakers and many hifi setups including valve amps, super audiophile expensive stuff and it didn’t compare to B&O’s BL90 which measures and compensates for room acoustics. The BL90 is simply staggering in its tonality and clarity. Piano sounds better on this than any of those audiophile speakers I auditioned. B&O have one of the best acoustic engineers and anechoic facility in the world.

I buy one H95 in gold and still happy with the H95, but B&O hase exchange the first device, no electronic problem, only the head cushion from the headband came off in the end I got a brand new one, but until then the repair and support process in Germany was pure horror I had to call countless times because I always got a UPS return label without a barcode this all took from 11 April 2021 to middle July 2021 !!! the purest horror !!! That is the reason why I prefer to buy from amazon, because something like this can normally be done in a few days I don't know exactly how much anymore, but a few phone calls were necessary The B&O support staff (Germany) were always really, really nice, but in the end it doesn't help if the logistics partner wrong Now I have made a protection around the fabric of the hanger The head cushion, like the ear cushions, should also be able to be removed for cleaning, then everything would be perfect Otherwise the best headset I have ever had in terms of sound, I would buy it again

the biggest prob with most bt headphones is that they are tuned to be very bassy. And yes the h95 after my taste also might be the best sounding bt headphones with an excellent ANC. Im curious if the Ipod Max 3 comming soon (Ipod Max 2 will not be produced as far as I understand) will get an upgrade, among other with the caring purse... If your home is silent i though would recommend would go to retailers for HiFiMan, Audeze and Focal. If you like quality i guess you will love Audeze LCD-X. The price might be higher than the H95 (Except for HiFiMan), but the sound quality is several times better

Hi Ethan, I wanted to ask you, if you have this problem. I got a H95 last year as well, and on maximum noise cancelling, when i pause the music, i can hear some sounds like: dadadada dadadadada, like a signal, transmission sound... It is very little, I don't hear it when the music is playing. But i hear it if i turn the volume to the lowest and playing quiet music or when I pause the music. And with neutral or transparency mode, there is not such sounds. Do you have that too~~? Thank you very much for sharing !
@EthanFromLondon

No I don't have that issue. Perhaps reset it to factory settings and make sure you have updated it to the latest firmware and if the problem still exists then contact B&O and they will fix it or exchange it for you.

@@EthanFromLondon I see~ yes, I am also contacting B&O right now, trying to let them understand this sound~ seems difficult to describe it, and it is a very little sound, sometimes there sometimes not. They said it may be just the microphones picking up the ambient noise in the room. But i really dont know if that is the case.... Anyways! thank you very much and keep up with your videos!!! love your new range rover btw :D !

Reinventing the wheel is exactly the reason why Apple is the number one tech company in the world. They crushed the Walkman market. Annihilated the Phone market when everyone was laughing and set a new standard of packaging all other companies in the world now follows. No other company is so dominant in so many fields as Apple, and now, they have even surpassed Intel, Nvidia and AMD in the most technically difficult arena in the world - Semiconductors.

B&O and Apple isn't a good fit. Totally different brand equity. B&O has great brand equity and people identify it with quality and design. B&O should collab with car brands with the same brand equity like Porsche etc. And they do. They collab with Lamborghini, Bentely, Aston Martin, Audi and Ford(Why Ford?!) Apple scores good on design, but the quality and the technology used in their products is always inferior to other brands and in many cases also outdated. But more importantly, what value would Apple get from the acquisition/collab. People that are already buying Pc's or Android phones won't switch to Apple products due to B&O speakers/earphones. And the people that are already purchasing Apple products doesn't care about quality, If they did they would buy Pc's and Android phones in the first place. People buy Apple products because they're used to using ihpones or because of design(Imac etc.) So having said that I don't see how it would benefit Apple the company.
@EthanFromLondon

I would have to disagree with your statements. PCs and Android phones fall apart is a few years while Apple products last for a long time. With Apple you get value for money and quality.
@asdadfafafafffallslsldd8068
2 жыл бұрын
@@EthanFromLondon I can't say much about Android phones, but PC's won't fall apart.I mean it's just hardware from independent manufactures that are mixed together in a manufactured computer or by yourself, essentially the same thing Apple does(only they use cheap slow hardware and charge top $) I've had macbook pro, imac and multiple iphones. The macbook pro overheated after a couple of years. The imac works fine ,but it's just so slow and overpriced compared to a pc. I've used iphones since the first one and I intend on using iphones in the future too because I'm so accustomed to it. But two of my ihpones got problems with the home button. I don't really have a problem with the quality of the Apple products tbh, for me it's more about less value compared to competitive products in the same price range(especially with their laptops and pc's) But more importantly I'm not sure how a B&O collab would benefit Apple?
