The old town area has many attractions such as the On Nut canal, Little India, the electronics district, and a shopping mall that sells traditional Thai products.
Historically, it is one of the oldest areas in Bangkok and is located close to the Grand Palace and the three major temples. Walking through this area, you can see various cultures from different countries, and the scenery changes one after another, making it an interesting place to visit.
The Indian district here is called Phahurat. When it comes to Little India, curry is a must-try! I had Indian cuisine for the first time since coming to Thailand. The menu and taste are different from Indian curry in Japan, and it feels more authentic. Curry tastes particularly delicious when eaten during hot weather.
In addition to the delicious food, the Indian district is known for its beautiful clothing and religious decorations. It has a different kind of beauty compared to Thai culture. Since there are many Indians living in Thailand, it seems to be a place for them. It felt like I had come to a different country.
As we continue forward, we arrive at Ban Moh, the electronics district. It is like Japan's Akihabara, with many electrical components, lights, and speakers being sold.
In the midst of this area, I found an old Chinese temple. It is a historic temple that has been beautifully decorated up to the ceiling. It is a very beautiful place.
Near this temple is a shopping mall called "Old Siam Plaza." Here, traditional Thai clothing and decorations are mainly sold. There are also many food stalls selling Thai street food, and the air conditioning makes it a cool place to take a break after walking for a long time.
Please come and visit this area when you have the chance!
