I am 79 years old. Back in the 60s almost everybody ate peanut butter. If a kid got sick nobody thought much of it. With continued exposure to peanuts the allergy went away. By the 60s the unrestricted advertising on drug items was no more. Back in the 60s when corporal punishment was allowed there was far better discipline in the schools. In the 60s open container laws did exist. An open container in a car would get you a ticket and fine so that one is incorrect. Drunk driving would land you in jail, and a 6 month license suspension. This goes back to the 50s so that too is incorrect. Maybe in NY, where I'm from, DWI laws were different than some other parts of the country.

Has anyone done an unbiased study on the correlation between the drop in corporal punishment in homes and in schools, and the rise in crime?

To this day I am afraid of dogs. Since as a child I was bitten or chased by dogs. Often when the dog’s owner was saying something like “This dog won’t bite!” Apparently the dog didn’t get the memo.

Detentions have changed since I was in School. Back then (80's)...you sat through the lunch-break, and performed menial tasks. Now though, if you get a detention...it is a week-end detention... where they go to the persons house and collect them to do the detention.

This video is inaccurate in the very first sentence. The Beatles were *not* on the radio in 1960. They didn’t start recording until 1962 and didn’t get popular in American until late 1963. And miniskirts were not a thing in 1960. It was not until about 1967 or 1968 that they became pervasive. I won’t watch the rest of the video. It lacks credibility.
