I am old enough to remember Kennedy. I remember how inspired I was as a child. No one in politics has inspired me since then...until now at 57. "Hope is a thing with wings that lifts us high enough to see the truth." Bob Perks Barack, you are Hope...you are truth. "I wish you enough!"

After listening to this speech yesterday, I was left with an incredible feeling of unity for my fellow Americans, much as I did after 9/11. I am an American Black woman and my hope (also my name: Hope) is that we can lift each other up and truly understand that EVERY Americans' success ensures America's success. I am so tired of the racial divide in our country. It is time to talk, to listen, to understand, to respect and to move on...together. We are ONE. And I love ALL of my fellow Americans.

His speeches are inspirational and the idea of having him leading America is a strong sign of new times and prosperity, in the US and around the World. As an Human being, I'm proud to be witnessing this election. Andre

For the first time in U.S history , the question of race and its consequences in the non perfection has made a brilliant entrance in the Election Process. I sincerely hope that Obama will win . Not because he is african american but cause never would the message be more clear that America has decided to write a brand new page of its history . To my point of view the election of Obama as President of united States would definitly be the real beginning of the 21th Century as a new era

"Barack is the first candidate in my lifetime to strip some of this b.s. away and I just hope we don't blow this chance. Man, if we miss this opportunity, we don't deserve it." - Win Butler (The Arcade Fire) I don't know how many times in the past I've heard people mention they want a president like Obama, only to retract their statement for an illegitimate reason. Win Butler reminds us all that Obama exemplifies what we are all looking for, and it would be a tragedy to blow this oppurtunity

Masterful, messianic, and professorial. A speech so powerful, I am rendered speechless. It should now be apparent to any fence sitting, equivocating voter who the most contemplative, diplomatic, and unifying candidate is. The future is now, and only through togetherness will it be realized -- by releasing fear's grip and extending an open hand (heart and mind) to our neighbors, we shall create "a more perfect union." Tremendous. Thank you. Mr. Obama.

In America, when you are less than an ounce of African descent, you are considered Black and treated accordingly (and differently). That's just how it is. Trust me....I know. I'm excited about his potential to be our next president. If he wins, he will be the first Black president in history, and it's definitely important to me, being an African American myself. It simply means progress & wonderful change. Don't take it offensively, okay? It,in no way means that any race is superior to another.

That was amazing. I'm so glad he took the time to address this issue. As a white woman I was very offended when people would look at the vote as a skin color- and then when I voiced mine? that I was simply a white woman that was trying to fit into the diverse crowd. It frustrates me deeply to see people that believe we simply disregard the nation and focus only on who is what, what the media says someone else does, instead of what will and what NEEDS to be done. That's why I voted for Obama.
