Barbara Beverly, a Detroit native, found her calling in the vibrant world of disco music in the late 1970s. Barbara's soulful voice and magnetic stage presence quickly earned her a devoted following, although her fame never reached the heights of some of Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor and other mainstream contemporaries.
In 1990, Barbara decided to retire from the music industry. For her farewell tour, she chose to perform at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City. As the final notes of "I Hope Love Finds You" faded away, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause, rising to their feet in a standing ovation. Barbara, visibly moved by the outpouring of love and support, thanked her fans for their unwavering dedication throughout her career.
This live final performance of "I Hope Love Finds You" was never released on vinyl or cassette and is a rare find.
