I’m not really sold on made-to-move, mainly because of the unsightly joints, so I think this is a good compromise. I like some articulation on the upper body, and I don’t see it as changing an original because this line isn’t true repros like the Superstar Christie was. It is only “inspired by classic Barbie designs”.
@constancestrawn1303

As soon as I saw the pumps on the Office Lady doll, I knew "ooh, those are the feet of a bend-and-snap!". I agree that the throwback should have it.
@Adv18
3 жыл бұрын
These are 80s inspired, they need the bend and snap because that’s exactly what Barbie was about back then. The articulated bodies started in the 90s and had variations upto the now made to move bodies. I personally think the made to move bodies are horrible. If I get a fashion doll, I want the doll to be skinny and exaggerated, not plain and ordinary lol
@marywiggins7411

@navileblond9981

Now this is the Barbie I remember, I'm not a fan of the latest Barbie face or even face paint she's cloned time after time. In the 90's no Barbie ever looked the same, eye color, hair colour & style, makeup, outfits that still last, I would say 90's era was the best ever for Barbie! There's some cute Barbies coming out now like Extra dolls, Looks dolls, BMR1959, some fashionistas. But the hair and fashion are still not to the level of the 80s/90s. To me my dream doll is a 90s head with a made to move body! Boom happy!!! If Mattel created a made to move line inspired from the 80s- 90s we would be happy! No more clones this face sculpt is now boring!!! Great video love the office!!! Thank you Toya.

Aargh! The hole in the head! I hope that’s not a problem on all of them. I will probably get the dolls in this line because I grew up in the 80s and don’t have any of my childhood dolls. I love the accessories, but the outfits really should have had fully-detachable, separate pieces. I would have paid $5 more for that (or better yet, include in the price, which is already high). I kind of feel like this line is a rip-off for the price, but I do like the design and overall concept.

When I saw the pivotal body arms, I got happy to see they would at least have articulation. Imagine my disappointment that there isn't any other articulation - because I don't consider bend & snap knees as articulation. D: Many of the accessories are cute! But doesn't look like I'll be adding these to my collection, even if I re-bodied them. While I loved Barbie when I was younger, it is nice to see these face molds are no longer used except for special releases. Thanks for the helpful review.

I was excited at first since I am completely an 80s kid. I owned the original Day to Night Barbie, then got the repro. These are very cute, but not even close to 80s quality in the clothing. That is the main issue I have with the Barbie line now. Too many printed textures and cheap materials. Look at the clothing from the 80s and you will see actual stitching, snaps, finished edges. The one thing they will never be able to create that only an 80s Barbie girl would know..... the smell of a brand new, fresh out the box Barbie. Yes, I know the plastic was probably really toxic ( if you set them on fire, goodness NO !) But all the things were of a higher quality, and the jewelry looked like a diamond, or whatever stone. I like the design of both, good try for a nod to the 1980s. Price wise, I'm going to have to really think about it. But here you go 80s girls, " WE GIRLS CAN DO ANYTHING ! Right Barbie ?"

Oh my gosh! I loooooovr the outfit a you put together for office Barbie sooooo much!!! I wish someone nice and reasonably priced on Etsy would make the outfit so I do not need to buy three Barbies just to get the outfit. I love the white shirt with the top so much that I have been incredible tempted to buy it just for that shirt 👚. But if I am forced to buy another regular Barbie face doll again (my last one was Malibu and also the nutcracker set 🤯) I will literally lose my mind. 😂 You seem to have access to my wishes 🤔 because every Barbie/Fashion doll/DIY video You make are exactly what I wanted at that moment. Feel free to keep tapping in to my brain anytime for fabulous video ideas. Maybe next You can do a DIY blouse/top with an oversized bow that does not require a sewing machine 🤗. Also how to make an easy, modern or white standard fireplace, a larger sized bedroom and playroom for kids and even a stable that holds a minimum of four horses (and which ones to use abs hue to make their gear look like the real English style instead of crazy pink western or princess). These are so cute!!! I love them!!! I do wish they were cheaper, though. Especially considering they have the old rubber bend and snap legs. I get that it's meant to be nostalgic, but they did give the dolls the new style of arms and wrists, so they probably could have done it with the legs too. Or at least made them completely Made to Move (especially the Workin' Out doll) given the price. I may have to add these to my collection, after they go on sale. :D I was born in 1987 so I didn't get to play with these when they came out, but I've heard of them all! Have to agree. She even does something similar in the video. Just pick a doll, source pieces from either the fashionistas or the fashion packs, throw it all together & boom, you have your own 80's doll. Bonus, if you want, you could also source a pair of hands from another doll to have a slightly more dynamic look. I believe she used a pair from the WWE Superstars line, so there's a decent skin tone variety there to choose from.
