Bardoli is known for its Khichdi and Patra. Nowadays there are so many other food items which are also very very popular in bardoli but Patra and Khichdi is one of the most loved food from bardoli. There are two types of Bardoli Khichdi 1.With Onion and Garlic and 2.Without Onion and Garlic. I am sharing without onion and garlic khichdi recipe which taste exactly same as we have in Jalaram Khichdi in Bardoli. My Friend Smith Pathak who is from bardoli shared his secret recipe with me and trust me this khichdi exactly means 110% like bardoli ki khichdi. Bardoli khichdi served with Gujarati Kadhi, Papad, Achar or Curd. This khichdi is a full meal its self as its has lots of vegetables. I will surely recommend this recipe and do include this bardoli khichdi in your diet. Its very healthy.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Oil
2 Bay Leaf
1 Cinnamon Stick
3 Cloves
3 Cardamom
7-10 Curry Leaves
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
15-20 Peanuts
2 Green Chilies
1/2 Cup Bottle Gourd
2-3 Medium Sized Brinjals
1/2 Cup Carrots
1 Medium Size Potato
1/2 Cup Green Peas
1 Medium Size Tomato
1.5 Inch Ginger
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Green Chilly Paste
3/4 Cup Rice
1/4 Cup Toor Dal
1/4 Cup Split Green Grams
1/4 Cup Yellow Dal
Salt to Taste
5 Cups Water
For Tempering:
1 tsp Ghee
1 tsp Oil
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
5-7 Curry Leaves
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
2-3 Dry Red Chilies
1 tsp Grated Coconut.
