I love this song, it has two great messages in it: 1) One person realizing he's being in a relationship just due to his guilt and pride, not fooling himself anymore and just wanting to leave. In the song that makes it sound like he's just a dick, but hurting someone is hard to do. It's that bridge between compassion and self-actualization where the correct thing to do is to be selfish and leave. 2) The other person not saying shit like "Nah that's fine I didn't want you anyways, go ahead and leave!" They recognize that it hurts, that it will be painful, but also they are still their own unique person without their partner. They aren't *defined* by their partner's presence. Don't be so arrogant, don't think of them as someone who can't handle their own individuality and nobody is interested in a one-sided relationship. The song is just so brutally honest.

@hiketeck To each their own, I guess; obviously, they're not going to be the same. When I heard that he left the band, I said to myself that I would wait until I saw them live again before passing judgment. Personally, I thought their show in Calgary in April was amazing. They're coming to my town next week, and I'm absolutely stoked. Sure, it's a different band, but they still have the energy and skill it takes in order to make it; the new album is a testament to that, as well.

Very well Mrs. Waite - I've done as ordered I've listened from beginning to end - it's a good live performance. I don't know much about the band - but when he started screaming at me around the 3:45 mark I almost ran out of my apartment with my headphones still attached to my head. What are you trying to do Mrs. Waite - kill me!!! Sheeshhh Good song, good performance by a fairly nerdy band - but there's a certain amount of soul within. I hope I haven't locked myself out of my apartment.

I'm late to the BNL's. I love how truely humble they are, which I can only attribute to being Canadians. Two highly talented song writers, able to work together, respect each other, like each other as much as two people can. They have SO MANY good songs. What a band. I'm glad I was late to them, now i'm not sick of them...:)
