Some people say Mozart is "easy" to play. Compared to Chopin it is surely easier, but to get this clear and precise sound and at the same time adding nuances in the dynamics is very very hard. Also all his trills are so perfect, light and flawless.

Highly disagree. Dynamics in his instrument didn't exist when mozart played. In fact, Mozart never wrote his sonatas for the Fortepiano. Hence the reason why they don't have written dynamics. Both dynamics and speed of his sonatas were added at the turn of the romantic period. When performers could in facts play loud and soft as well as faster to show off, this was due to the action change on the Forte piano.

What a masterful playing of the greatest master's so called simple works. after listening to numerous renditions of Mozart's piano sonatas, including some of my favourites like Brendel and Gulda, Haebler. I always revisit this cycle of Barenboim from time to time. His renditions are like gold, it feels just right always, not affected by one's mood or the taste of time. the second movement of this sonata is so recklessly beautiful. The poetry and pathos in it shall not be overlooked just because it's a relatively small work that he wrote probably for his pupils.

Mannheim. 1777. 12 noon.
