Barley is called Yava in Ayurveda and is the grain of choice to reduce blood sugar. Along with having a low glycemic index, it is an excellent source of selenium and also contains thiamin, vitamin B6, riboflavin, folate, phosphorus, zinc, and copper.
Jowar is rich in fibre, minerals (calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron) and vitamins (B1, B2, B3, E). This recipe is made protein rich with the addition of urad whole.
