In this video I restored an old drill stand which a friend found at his parents place. He asked me if I could restore it for him and as you can see I said yes.
I followed his wishes for the restoration. He wanted the color to be hammered black and wanted to leave pitting so it still has the old and used character.
I only removed some casting marks and sanded the surface of the table clean.
For the testing I drilled in a brick because I have an SDS power drill which has special drill bits. I only have SDS drill bits for stone and don’t have a chuck that fits in the power drill so I can use regular drill bits with it.
Disclaimer: The breaking of the brick at the end of the video only serves as entertainment. Please do not try that at home. I trained martial arts for several years and that was not my first time doing that. Again, please don’t try that, you will probably hurt yourself unless you have the proper training.
I am not responsible for personal injury or property damage if any actions shown in the video will be imitated.
I hope you understand.
The work on the project took about 35 hours (inclusive filming) plus about 25 hours of editing.
