Raschke is a gentleman. It would have been entertaining for him to tell some "road stories" but.. Again... Raschke is a gentleman and doesn't want to say anything bad about his friends and even those who aren't his friends. I can respect that. Truth be told, there are very few who could hang with him in a shoot match. He kept Billy Robinson from getting "cute" with him in the ring even though Billy tried. Nice man and a great wrestler.

A true classic, used to watch him on uhf tv when I was a kid, Verne Gagnes outfit from Minnesota and on Bob Luce’s show out of Chicago. One night Luce’s announcer Sam Mennacher talked about the Baron appearing at their next high school house show in Kankakee Illinois ( an old river city 40 miles south of chi-town roughly)… the Baron comes on camera doing the claw routine…saying “ Ja ja ja, Herr Mennacher, vas isn’t dis Kankakee?” Then he runs off camera still doing the claw…Mennacher attempted to stifle his laughter, but not very successfully…gotta love it. Thanks for the great times.

I'd have loved to have him as a teacher. Great humble guy with probably a lot more stories and sidenotes to tell than he did here. I find it a bit sad that these interviewers for the shoots only play the "name game" for a few minutes. You could've probably thrown a few hundred names at him given how long he was in the business.. Thankfully he is one of the few people of his era that is still around. It's a shame that some people today only associate him with his nazi-gimmick and base their opinion on that.
